Statement of Work
Room # 0616 DTIC Tech Control
APC Cooling Unit Piping
1. The DLA Headquarters building (2462), located at 8725 John J Kingman Road, Ft. Belvoir, Va. 22060 has a requirement to provide chilled water for new APC cooling units within the DTIC Tech Control area of room 0616.
2. The contractor shall provide and install new APC Cooling Units for server room as indicated on drawings. The contractor shall provide all materials and labor necessary for the intended use. The contractor shall be responsible for proper sizing of the new units. The units shall communicate and be controlled through the existing Building Automation System. (BAS). All controllable points that the new units are capable of shall be enabled in the BAS for end user’s use.
3. The contractor shall provide and install new main chilled water supply and return lines, 4 branch supply and return chilled water lines from the existing Data Aire
Chiller chilled water lines as shown in drawing for new ACP in rack cooling units. All chilled water lines shall be 1 inch copper. Each chilled water branch line shall include isolation valves for the unit, a bypass valve, balancing valve, strainers, two temperature and two pressure gauges. The contractor shall insulate the chilled water lines to match or exceed the existing chilled water line insulation.
4. The contractor shall provide and install a condensation drain for each APC in rack cooling unit as shown in drawing. The main and branch drain lines shall be copper. The main drain line shall be 1 ½ inches in diameter and terminate to the nearest floor drain. Each branch lines shall be ¾ inch in diameter and terminate at the location of the new APC unit as directed. The contractor shall insulate the drain lines to match or exceed the existing condensation line insulation.
5. The contractor shall be responsible for the sealing all dust/ dirt sensitive equipment or areas with plastic before work begin. Any requirement for extra cleaning as a result of the work shall be the responsibility of the contractor.
6. The contractor shall be responsible for the disposal of materials removed and or not used. Contractor shall be responsible for the cleaning of the work area at the end of the day.
WORK SCHEDULE
SAMPLE
1. All work shall be coordinated with Jim Turzak (703-767-2019). Work shall not impact the mission of DLA or Tenant Agencies. Work may have to be performed after regular business hours.
2. The Contractor shall be responsible to provide a schedule and present it to the
C.O.R. no later than two weeks prior to the start date.
3. The Contractor shall be responsible for coordinating all work with the
Government Agencies and Contractors involved.
SAFETY and STANDARDS
1. The Contractor shall be responsible for compliance with all Local and Federal
Government laws, codes, DOD UNIFIED FACILITIES CRITERIA (UFC), safety regulations, industry, and building standards and practices.
2. The contractor shall be responsible for obtaining burn permits for the use of torches and other related work. The contractor is to verify with Darrel Garner
(703) 767-6881 and/or the electrical contractor (703) 767-6852 and the Ft. Belvoir
Fire Department that the fire alarm system for the area(s) has been disabled before work commences and that the system is restored to normal operation at the end of each workday.
SECURITY
1. The Contractor shall be responsible for the physical security and provide escorts to sensitive areas as needed.
WORK SITE
1. The Contractor shall be responsible for the securing environmentally sensitive equipment or protect areas with plastic before work begins. Any requirement for extra cleaning as a result of the work shall be the responsibility of the contractor.
2. The Contractor shall be responsible for the cleaning of the work area at the end of each work period.
3. The Contractor shall be responsible to remove, recycle or properly dispose of all materials in accordance with all local and Federal regulations.
DELIVERY
1. The contractor shall deliver to the Government detailed two sets of specifications, and drawings with the within 15 days after award for Government approval. The
Government will have up to a ten day review period for approval.
2. The contractor shall deliver to the Government two sets of as-built and 2 sets of digital drawings of repairs within ten days of the contract expiration.
3. The contractor will provide two sets of Operational Manuel’s and will be sent to the Contractor Officer Representative along with the warranty papers.
TESTING
1. Upon completion of installation, these pressure vessels must pass be inspected by a licensed inspector according to the Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and all
Local and Federal Government laws, codes, safety regulations, industry, and building standards and practices.
2. The contractor will be responsible for execution and documentation of performance verification tests and inspections.
APPROVAL
1. All work must be approved by the Government or Government authority.
Finished work will be inspected and approved by the Mechanical Inspector(s).
Any deficiencies as a result of the inspection shall be corrected by the Contractor at no additional cost to the Government.
WARRANTY
1. All new parts and labor shall have a minimum of one year warranty.
2. The warranty period starts on the Governments final acceptance date.
