About this file
This document is an official Department of Labor "Employee Rights Under the Davis-Bacon Act" poster for laborers and mechanics employed on federal or federally assisted construction projects. The poster outlines key worker protections including prevailing wage requirements, overtime pay regulations, and enforcement mechanisms. Key details include:
Wage and Overtime Provisions: Workers must be paid the wage rate listed in the Davis-Bacon Wage Decision and receive overtime pay of at least 1.5 times their basic rate for hours worked over 40 per week. Enforcement provisions allow contract payments to be withheld to ensure proper wages, with potential penalties including contract termination, debarment from future federal contracts, and potential civil or criminal prosecution for falsifying payroll records or inducing wage kickbacks. The poster provides contact information for the Department of Veterans Affairs Contract Specialist Daniel P. Kinney and the U.S. Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division for further inquiries.
