About this file
This document is a pre-bid meeting and addendum file for the 2025 Berthoud Road Improvements Project in Colorado, which involves clarifying project details after initial bids were rejected for being over budget. The project encompasses multiple roadway improvements, including asphalt mill and overlay on various roads, alley reconstruction, and curb-gutter-sidewalk work, particularly on Spartan Ave. Key project specifications include requirements for railroad right-of-way (ROW) permits and insurance, millings disposal at 232 1st St., and specific traffic control guidelines that allow for "local access only" during construction, with full road closures permitted during work hours and flaggers required on S. Berthoud Parkway.
The document addresses specific bid items (A, C, and D) with technical details such as geotechnical requirements (compaction only) and confirmation of no additional pavement markings or crosswalks on Spartan Ave. The project is time-sensitive, with all work mandated to be completed before August 31, 2025. Bidders are advised to follow CDOT standard specifications for ADA ramps, sidewalks, and curbs, with some flexibility to match existing conditions. The project was re-posted for bidding after the initial round of submissions exceeded the budget, indicating a revised scope or cost constraints.
