From WPS:

Our questions are for the Auditorium are below:

1. House Lighting do you have a Graphic Eye interface or DMX for control? A new TV lighting system will be installed and connected to house lighting. DMX control will most likely be the connection.

1. Define the Presenter View requirements at the Lectern? Allow presenters to see there note without displaying on the screen or monitors. This includes using the touch panel as a preview monitor that allows presenters to see video from any source prior to routing to any display or output as well as providing direct preview of the local PC on the lectern display.

1. What Cisco model system do you have today? Cisco SX80

1. What type if Fiber cards are they SM or MM? SM

From Casaplex:

Equipment List

1. Is there complete flexibility in vendor selection? Government equipment list is the preference equipment. Equipment specified is utilized in other NIH facilities as part of a standardization. Vendors proposing alternative equipment must justify the change and insure that it will meet the governments requirements and function with system design without issues. Cost saving and price are not considered justification for change government specified equipment.

1. Per design specifications, there is (1) remote per PTZ camera. Will there be (4) camera operators, or should we condense this down to (1), or maybe (2) remotes that would control all (4) cameras from (1), or (2) adjacent stations? One (1) Remote Controller for four (4) Robotic PTZ cameras with one (1) operator

1. Are there currently other RF devices that will need to be coordinated. For example, wireless communications, cameras, lighting controls, etc… that are not listed in the SOW/Equipment list? None that we are aware of, however Building 10 is a large hospital and has numerous wireless equipment in operation. It is the integrator/ installers responsibility to ensure that these hospital systems do not interfere with the AV systems operation.

Statement of Work

1. Presentation/Video Delivery

a. “Provide a multi-window display solution” This was not mentioned in the equipment list, or the walk-through. If this is current:

i. Location?

ii. Available surface area for mounting?

iii. Resolution?

iv. Viewing area?

v. Target standard? (SMPTE/THX, video/text)

b. “Sources may include” A networked four window windowing processor IS included in the systems design and equipment list (VWP-01). The purpose of this device is to provide a quad view to include any of the IP video sources that can be displayed to any of the outputs. This should include:

· Providing a quad preview at the lectern touch panel showing up to 4 video sources

· Sending the quad image to any of the outputs including displays or projector So this is not a separate display location or hardware but the ability to create a 4 window image from any available source to be sent to any available output.

i. Are there any consumer (VGA/DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort) sources that would require multiple ingest points/locations? ((2) at podium, (1) at Front of House (FoH), etc.)

ii. Are HD-SDI ingest points needed anywhere other than FoH and BoH?

Reference TA functional drawings provided. Per system drawings and equipment list, there are HDMI and HD-SDI inputs at all stage floorboxes, in addition to HDMI inputs at lecter, HD-SDI inputs at camera locations and additional sources as shown.

2. Audio Reinforcement

a. Can the assistive listening system be RF based? no, IR is specified. RF would be a potential issue in the hospital.

3. Broadcast System

a. Is it required that the XDCAM record deck be rack component based, or can it be a networked IP based system, or a hybrid?

b. Is it required that the HD test and measurement equipment be rack component based, or can it be an integrated software-based solution?

Provide systems and components as specified in functional diagrams and equipment list.

4. Network

a. Has an ISP been chosen?

Not applicable. Network connectivity and access to outside provided through the NIH network services team.

b. Will there be a separate guest network?

The AV network is isolated from the external network and will not interconnect. AV contractor is responsible for all integration and configuration of the AV network directly and using the networking equipment specified. AV contractor to coordinate with NIH network team for all network coordination and integration for VTC system and VOIP to audio DSP.

From Rhodes Research:

ADDITIONAL POWER AMPLIFIERS AND LOUDSPEAKERS

1.1 Where is the volume control to be located?

Volume control will be located near green room at back stage area. Exact location to be field coordinated during installation.

AUDIO PROCESSING, MIXING AND DISTRIBUTION

2.1 Can you advise the configuration of the GFE Soundcraft Si performer - including versions and installed options.

The Soundcraft mixer will be replaced with a new audio DSP and outboard remote mixing surfaces (reference functional diagrams and equipment list).

2.2 How are the faders to be allocated between the GFE mixer and the Eclipse MXL Midnight?

The network mixing surfaces should provide access, in banks, to all user controllable input and output levels. That should include providing level adjustments for all microphones, AV source, remote conference audio, VTC audio and wireless microphones, as well as output to sound reinforcement and remote conferencing. Exact layout of faders to be field coordinated with NIH Events staff during installation. Contractor’s engineering/programming team shall meet with NIH staff early during installation to review proposal for programming of remote control surfaces to obtain comments and approval from NIH Events staff prior to final programming.

2.3 Is the existing (now discontinued) Tascam HD-R1 to be used alongside the new Denon DN-700R? If so what is the strategy?

Per system diagrams, only the new recorder is to remain.

2.4 What are the sources/sinks of the Audinate XLR interfaces?

Reference TA functional diagrams. Sources include the media player and outputs include the desktop loudspeakers at the operator’s table.

2.5 We are not clear about the MXA microphone architecture envisaged. Only sixteen are to be active out of the forty units requested, In all cases the chargers need to be networked. Options are:

· Use 5 MXW8APT unit (2 more than specified) to allow all microphones to be active and use Dante routing to select 16 of these.

· Arrange the microphones in primary/secondary pairs so that the first picked up from the charger is active. This would only need the three MXAAPT units specified but would still leave the question how sixteen are to be selected from the twenty.

· Dynamically allocate any microphone in a charger slot to one of 16 channels. This can be done either through the web interface or from the control system GUI. This would only require 2 MXAAPT units though. Note for this to work correctly users would always have to replace microphones in the assigned charger slot.

The equipment list includes 3 microphone transceivers which allow for a maximum of 24 microphone channels. There are 18 microphones included in equipment list (6 goosenecks, 6 beltpacks and 6 handhelds). Each of these 6 groups should be assigned to an individual transceiver. The source for the request for 40 microphones is not clear but is not per system specifications.

2.6 How many open microphone channels are to be used in a VTC - more than eight?

Reference Audio DSP Systems Configuration specification for all audio processing programming details. Per specification, all microphones should be processed through an Automixer built into the audio DSP. This automixer shall allow for all microphone inputs to be active at any given time but should manage gain based on the NOM to ensure unity gain and system stability. The output of the automatic mixer is then sourced to the system outputs including sound reinforcement and far end outputs.

2.7 Can you clarify if the GFE ULDX40 system is still to be used? If so are these microphones to be used for VTC.

Yes, per TA602, the OFE wireless receiver (4 channels) shall remain and be processed along with other microphone inputs through the system. Microphone inputs shall be available to VTC per answer to 2.6 above.

VIDEO DISPLAYS

3.1 Where is TV65 to be located?

Per functional diagrams (TA601), TV65 is to be located at lobby, above main entry. There is currently a display at this location that this new display will replace. Exact mounting and integration to be field coordinated during installation.

3.2 How is envisaged the mobile cart be connected to the system - umbilical cord (how long?) ?

Per TA601, the cart connects using a single CAT6 connection to any of the floorboxes at the stage. The length of this cord should be long enough to reach from any floorbox to the edge of the stage on front and to the adjacent floorbox to the side.

VIDEO DISTRIBUTION

4.1 Please give envisaged locations of wall mount HDMI transmitters.

Per TA601, these transmitters are location inside floorboxes on the stage.

VIDEO PRODUCTION SYSTEM

5.1 What SSD capacity is required to be delivered with the HYPERDECK STUDIO?

Provide with 2 SSDs, minimum 500GB each.

5.2.What is the data format and form of the GFE fiber optical feeds?

This question is unclear. Fiber modules included are for interconnectivity between networking equipment. If this refers to other fiber equipment, please clarify.

SERVICE AND PRESENTATION COMPUTERS

6.1 How many PC’s are to be supported. The KVM switch has two ports but there is apparently only one computer.

Per TA601, two computers are included (both OFE) and both should connect to KVM switch.

5.2 Do you want to be able to display content on the projector/screens.

Yes, per TA601, the HDMI output of the “Room PC” should connect to a video encoder to allow its content to be sent to the system video outputs.

ROOM SCHEDULING AND TOUCHPANELS

7.1 Please advise on locations of touch panels.

Reference TA601 for location notes. Exact integration at each location to be coordinated on the field during installation.

7.2 What room scheduling functionality is required.

System shall allow for NIH staff to enter and display event name and schedule on touch panel(s) located outside main auditorium doors.

VIDEO CONFERENCING CODEC

6.1 Do you want to control the codec with standalone TOUCH10 or can it be integrated into the overall control system. If TOUCH10 is to be used where is it to be located.

Per specification/equipment list, a TOUCH10 is to be provided. However, per AV Control Systems Programming document, VTC control shall also be integrated into the AV control system. The TOUCH10 is to be connected and left at the racks to allow for advanced system configuration and controls. AV touch panel controls shall be limited to call management and controls as described in specification.
