About this file
This document is a Questions & Answers (Q&A) document for the City of Cape May's Project 23-13, specifically the Restoration of AME Church, Phase 2. The Q&A addresses a clarification request regarding bid bond submission requirements. The document indicates that all bid bonds and bid bond checks must be physically delivered to the City Clerk's Office before the time of bid opening, despite previous communication suggesting electronic upload was an option.
The project involves reconstructing the AME Church, a key contributing structure in Cape May's Historic District, with work to include restoration of the bell tower, entrance stairs, ADA ramp, and interior improvements such as bathrooms, electrical, mechanical, and finishes. The restoration will be conducted in accordance with U.S. Department of Interior standards for treating historic properties, specifically the 2017 guidelines for preserving, rehabilitating, restoring, and reconstructing historic buildings. The Q&A document provides critical clarification on the bid bond submission process, ensuring potential bidders understand the exact requirements for document submission.
