About this file
This document is a Permits file pertaining to the Phillippi Creek High Spots Stormwater Conveyance Dredging Project involving the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the United States Army Corps of Engineers. The permits for this project have been applied for and are currently pending final review from these agencies. The document indicates that no additional scope or requirements beyond those already included in the bid documents are expected to be added through the pending permits. Once the permits are received, copies will be provided to the contractor(s) involved in the project.
The permits are part of a broader dredging project that involves mechanical and/or hydraulic removal of sediment from approximately 12,054 linear feet of channel, with a typical width of 50 feet and targeting a depth of -4 feet mean low water. The project scope includes establishing temporary staging areas, constructing retention ponds and return water control structures, dewatering sediment, loading sediment into sealed trucks, transporting and disposing of dredged sediment at the Sarasota County Landfill, implementing erosion and turbidity control measures, conducting monitoring and reporting, and performing final site cleanup and restoration. The county anticipates executing construction contracts with a 180-day bid irrevocability period.
