About this file

This Options pricing schedule is associated with the City of Tampa Parks & Recreation Department's I-4 Interstate and Downtown Interchanges Grounds Maintenance contract in Hillsborough County, Florida. The document establishes unit prices for optional maintenance tasks that may be requested by the City beyond the base maintenance services. These optional services include mowing and cleanup (per 1/10 acre), landscape bed maintenance (bed weeding, shrub pruning, and mulch installation per square foot, plant material per unit), mulch application with markup, herbicide treatment for bed and turf areas, tree pruning for small and large trees, granular and liquid fertilizer application, sodding installation in four grass varieties, plant replacement with labor markups, debris and trash removal by weight, special litter pickup per cycle, and exceptional special maintenance tasks charged on an hourly basis. The pricing schedule is structured to allow the City flexibility in requesting additional work beyond the base contract scope on an as-needed basis, with unit rates to be determined during the bidding process for each optional service category.

The options pricing schedule does not form part of the final contract award but serves as a reference tool for calculating costs of supplemental maintenance tasks that the City may require. Bidders are required to submit their proposed unit prices for each optional service line item, enabling the City to manage costs for work such as additional mowing cycles beyond the standard 22 annual cuts, specialized treatments, or emergency cleanup activities. This approach allows the City to maintain budget control while retaining operational flexibility to address varying maintenance needs throughout the contract year without requiring formal contract amendments. The hourly rate for exceptional maintenance tasks assumes a typical four-person crew and provides a mechanism for addressing unanticipated landscape maintenance requirements on special occasions.
