About this file
This is an options pricing document for the I-4 Interstate and Downtown Interchanges Grounds Maintenance contract opportunity in Florida. The document establishes unit pricing for optional maintenance tasks that may be requested by the City beyond the base scope of work. The optional services encompass a comprehensive range of landscaping and grounds maintenance activities including turf mowing, landscape bed maintenance, mulch application, herbicide treatment, tree pruning, fertilizer application, sodding, plant replacement, debris removal, and miscellaneous services. Pricing is structured on various metrics such as per-acre, per-square-foot, per-tree, per-linear-foot, per-man-hour, per-ton, and hourly rates depending on the service category. The document specifies that this options page will not be part of the final award but serves as a reference for calculating costs of any additional maintenance tasks the City may require during the contract period.
The pricing structure allows the City flexibility in requesting additional services beyond the base contract scope with predetermined unit rates. Notably, mulch costs are to be quoted separately from application labor, with bidders required to submit their cost plus a specified markup percentage. For plant replacement services, bidders must provide a percentage markup on material and accessory costs along with landscape man-hour rates. The document indicates that the City anticipates one annual mulch application, though actual quantities and frequency may vary. Additionally, the contract includes provisions for exceptional special maintenance tasks, with four-person crews charged on an hourly basis for labor-intensive work not covered in standard maintenance descriptions. This flexible pricing structure enables the City to manage unforeseen or variable grounds maintenance needs while maintaining budget control through pre-negotiated unit rates.
