About this file
This is a Material and Labor Bond Form for the City of Pasadena, California, required for the Fueling Infrastructure Equipment Replacement and Improvements project administered by the Department of Public Works, Building Systems and Fleet Management Division. The bond secures the contractor's obligation to furnish all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, and services necessary to complete fueling infrastructure projects at the City Yards facility. The project encompasses two independently awardable groups: Group One involves replacing eight existing liquid fuel dispensers across three City fueling sites (four combination unleaded/diesel dispensers at City Yards, two unleaded dispensers at the Police Department, and two combination unleaded/diesel dispensers at Civil Defense); Group Two requires furnishing, delivering, and installing two ANGI Encore NZ1 compressed natural gas (CNG) dispensers and replacing existing CNG time-fill fueling equipment with eleven dual-hose time-fill posts. The contractor must ensure complete system compatibility with existing fueling infrastructure, fuel management systems, and communication systems while complying with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, codes, permits, and industry standards, including requirements of the California Air Resources Board, California Code of Regulations, local fire authorities, and the Certified Unified Program Agency.
The Material and Labor Bond Form requires the principal contractor and surety to guarantee payment for all materials, provisions, supplies, labor, equipment, transportation, and services used in performing the contract work, as well as amounts due under the Unemployment Insurance Act. The bond protects all persons entitled to file claims under Section 9100 et seq. of the California Civil Code and grants them the right of action in any suit brought upon the bond. The surety must comply with Chapter 2.350 of the Pasadena Municipal Code (Ordinance No. 6229). The bond amount must be specified and is subject to approval by the City Attorney. Any alterations to the work or materials, as well as extensions of time granted by the City, do not release either the principal or surety from their obligations under the bond.
