About this file
This file contains architectural specifications and installation instructions for a Model 19 stationary fire pole manufactured by McIntire Brass Works, Inc., in support of ITB# FAC/260961 issued by the City of Ocala, Florida for Fire Station #6 located at 5220 Southwest 50th Court, Ocala, FL 34474. The City of Ocala seeks an experienced contractor to provide and install a fire station slide/pole at the specified location. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for August 5, 2026 at 9:00 AM EST at Fire Station #6. The Model 19 pole is available in any length with diameter and thickness determined by pole length, constructed of cold-drawn brass or stainless steel with standard poles up to 30 feet featuring 2-inch diameter and 5/32-inch wall thickness. The installation package includes a floor flange, ceiling flange, and 32-inch landing mat constructed of closed-cell black neoprene per ASTM-D-1056-85 Grade 2C2-E1 specifications, with custom mat sizes available.
Installation requires a 37.5-inch diameter hole cut or formed in the floor with a minimum floor thickness of 5 inches. The specification document notes that the pole entrance to cage should be positioned between any two of the three stanchions, with gate placement determined based on practical considerations for quick access. Replacement parts are available through McIntire Brass Works, Inc., located at 63 Great Road, Unit 108, Maynard, MA 01754, with contact information provided as (617) 547-1819 or sales@slidepole.com.
