E. Description: Currently RIO and RIF resides within the blast radius of a potential

VBIED. The approved plan for B/106 is to relocate personnel to the second floor in order to move them beyond the required standoff distance, and also to consolidate RI offices to make room for leased space on the first floor. There are currently 70 staff positions (37 RIF and 33 RIO) affected by this relocation. As part of the Master Plan of Building 106, the relocation of the RIO and RIF divisions consolidates the divisions to the southernmost portion of the second floor (approx. 20,000 SF), in part, to meet blast force protection standards.

Similar to the RIB division suite that is currently under construction, the renovation will provide an open floor plan for the majority of the office with walled offices for the division chiefs, their associated staff, and branch chiefs.

Existing mechanical, electrical and communications systems are to be updated.

All flooring, walls and ceiling finishes are to be updated. Improved insulation properties will be incorporated for acoustic and thermal properties. This project includes the relocation of the RIO Division office, RIO branches, and RIF branches, the RIF Division office is being relocated as part of the RIB Division office renovation currently under construction.

Cable management system shall be sized for 100% growth. Provide Flextray from Eaton/Cooper B- Line or approved equal. Do not use communications cable trays for routing other low voltage cabling such as access control, building security system, HVAC controls, fire alarm cables, etc. All cabling should use approved drop outs from the manufacturer when exiting the tray, or exit into an approved device such as a conduit or J-hook for support when extending off the tray. The use of tie wraps in cable trays or to support cabling shall not be allowed. Always refer to the manufacturers specifications for installation.
