Preamble “Preamble” to System Integrity Documents

The attached tables provide guidance in developing a life cycle approach to product integrity during design, development, and production, and throughout system sustainment.
WSI-I is a summary table of the product integrity activities required for a weapon system. WSI-II through AVIP-II define life cycle product integrity activities/tasks for specific technical products/areas: weapon system, airframe structures, engine/propulsion, air vehicle mechanical equipment and subsystems, and avionics. These worksheets are used to develop and implement design integrity. These tables may be tailored to the individual program and should be flowed down to lower tier suppliers. When used in conjunction with the ITO's Section L&M form the basis to implement weapon system integrity at the program level. This approach should then be reflected in the contractual documentation for government to prime and prime to sub-contractors (i.e, SOW, IMP, specification(s), contractual program reviews, product acceptance criteria, etc). It is highly encouraged that key design qualification results be incrementally added to the verification section of the contractual specifications (via reference to test and/or analysis reports, etc) prior to the completion of the system verification review (SVR) or equivalent.
DISTRIBUTION STATEMENT D. Releaseable to DoD and DoD contractors.
The Drop down menu lists are located below the table on each sheet. Items A through S of the drop down list may be tailored by the offeror to address their specific Standard Operating Propecdures (SOPs) or related activities to the Air Force Integrity Programs. The drop down menus appear next to the cells labeled "baseline" and "KC-X" within each Integrity Program's table II.

WSI Tasks & Elements
This table is an update to Table I of MIL-HDBK-515, Weapon Systems Integrity Guide. It is summary of the types of activities that constitute System Integrity design. The implementation of these tasks are detailed within each of the Integrity process MIL-STDs, MIL-HDBKs, and/or Guidance Documents. This table is not to be placed on contract.

Completion Schedule for WSI Tasks & Elements
Access WSI documentsThis table is a supplement to MIL-HDBK-515 and the Technical Reviews/Audits for Aeronautical Weapon System Guide. It identifies, by phase, the system level tasks needed to be completed to allow the contributing Integrity processes to be implemented. This table should be tailored to reflect the type of acquisition and system maturity and is intended to aid in identifying IMP items and exit criteria for technical reviews/audits. Since Weapons System Integrity addresses acquisition and sustainment, it is necessary to involve all integrity stakeholders when defining activities, roles, and responsibilities. Supporting information is provided in Military Handbook 515 and the Technical Review/Audits Guide. In the event of a conflict or disagreement with the information in this table and Military Handbook 515, this table takes precedent."
