Arresting Hook (hidden)
Main Instrument Panel
Main Landing Gear Strut needs to be replaced. As a result, the wheel and the brakes need to be replaced as well. Mt. Home already has an F-15E wheel and brake assembly. This does not mean all TFE-6 sites will have the wheel and brake assemblies. The strut part number for the F-15E is 68A412501- 1003.
Brake Hold system is not present in the F-15C. This entire system needs to be installed in the F-15E version. This includes the brake hold switch and all associated wires/cables.
All three main landing gear doors are different on the F-15E than on the F- 15C. As a result, the three doors need replaced. This will also result in the replacement of the door linkages. The new linkage will also accommodate the needed lower and upper limit switches. The switches are different between the two models.
The F-15C utilizes one accumulator bottle to execute an emergency gear extension. The F-15E requires two accumulator bottles.
TFE-6 was designed with two accumulator bottles – no additional change required
During Anti-Skid operation, the indicator for Anti-Skid and Hook are located on the MPD for the F-15E. This indicator is not crucial to training, but is still required. The TFE-21 implementation of the indicator has it located on the caution panel.
The nose wheel strut is different on the F-15E; however, operations and riggings are the same as the F-15C. No need to change.
Selector valves the same as F-15E. No need to change.
No changes required for the arresting hook.
The instructors saw added value in using the hydraulic mule. They were
NOT interested in pursuing an inclusive hydraulic system.
