Questions Set 1 05/09/19 Answers Set 1 Nathan Meyer 05/09/19
Q1. Appendix D, in-processing modular office, paragraph 3.3.4, Communication Service. The paragraph ends with "Contractor shall obtain final approval for final connection to existing base communication system from the COTR." Do you mean we actually connect to the base system or do you want us to run the cable within the modular office and pigtail it on the outside of the two modular offices?
A1. Connect to the existing COM system at the base. The base will provide the tie off points for the electric and COM hookup.
RE: Cover – Demo – there is information in the appendix, nor scale on the drawing to suggest the size of the office to be removed.
Added dimensions of the existing modular office to be removed to the Cover PD section 3.1.8. Noted in Cover PD (REV 3) document.
Q2. Is there sprinkler to be disconnected / removed in the existing office?
Sprinkler system in the existing office is to be disconnected and removed.
Q3.Are there AC units to be removed / disposed of?
AC units in the existing modular office are to be removed and disposed of as well.
I added existing photos to the Cover PD (REV 3) section 3.1.8 in regards to the sprinkler and AC units in the existing modular office. These are to be removed with the existing modular office.
There is also no information forum on the pallet rack or shelving supported mezzanine in bldg. 26 provided that we can assess a proposal to remove / dispose of with.
Building 26 required security clearance. No electronics were allowed. No photos of the existing equipment to be removed were available. I updated AF Drawing GWH803-03 to include detail of the bin shelving constructed mezzanine to be removed in building 26. Cover PD (Rev 3) now states in section
3.1.8. “Building 26 existing bin shelving constructed mezzanine, and existing Pallet Rack shall be removed as shown on AF Drawing GWH803-03. The Pallet Rack to be removed consist of 18 bays each with 6 storage levels. Each bay is 15’H x 9’W x 3.5’D. The bin shelving constructed mezzanine to be removed consist of 324 bays of bin shelving, row light fixtures, bar grate decking, and fire suppression system. Each bay is approximately 3’W x 2’D x 89”H. Bin shelving bays range from 3 to 12 shelves. The top level of the existing bin shelving constructed mezzanine system consist of 14 bays of widespan rack to be removed.
