Holloman Question Set #3 Appendix H-VRC
Question 1: 3.1.1.5 says the VRC shall be the appropriate height to interface with the existing mezzanine but no mezzanine dimensions are given. In Appendix I it says the mezzanine is 12’. I would like to confirm the clear height and deck height of the mezzanine.
Answer: The VRC will replace an existing unserviceable one using the same footprint as shown in the picture in the Cover PD. The deck height of the mezzanine is 12’, as the VRC will be mounted on the outside of the mezzanine, the clear height should not factor into the design.
Appendix I – Incline Conveyor Question 2: 3.2.1.2 Specifies 150 lbs per square foot capacity. Is it supposed to be 150 lbs per linear foot?
Answer: 150 lbs per square foot is correct.
Question 3: 3.2.2.2 Mentions gravity conveyor, is this invalid?
Answer: Reference to “gravity” roller has been deleted and now just references conveyor.
Question 4: 3.2.2.5.1 Specifies slider bed, is a slider bed actually required? In previous jobs roller bed has been provided due to the capacity asked for. Is a roller bed acceptable?
Answer: Roller beds are acceptable. Appendix I has been updated to reflect this.
Question 5: 3.2.2.6 Specifies thru hex shafts with hog rings and spring loading. This is a contradiction.
Which is actually required?
Answer: Reference to spring loaded has been removed.
Question 6: 3.2.2.15 Specifies slider bed 180 degree curve conveyor. As with 3.2.2.5.1 a slider bed is not available at this capacity. Is a roller bed acceptable?
Answer: A roller bed is acceptable. Appendix I has been updated to reflect this.
Question 7: An additional question pertaining to the Cage in Building 310, since a ceiling is required, both dimensions of the cage are required.
Answer: The top of the cage shall be 23’-5” by 33’ 6.”
Question 8: system installation complete needs to be completed in 30 calendar days (Monday-Friday only)?
Answer: CLIN dates are deadlines that must be met to successfully meet schedule requirements of the contract. All installation must be completed within 180 DARO and each equipment piece must be delivered to the base within 150 DARO, you are not restricted to install only within that timeframe.
Available installation times are Monday-Friday from 8:00-16:30 as shown in the Contractor
12 March 2018
Information sheet; however, additional times can be discussed at the Post Award. Most bases are willing to accommodate additional time on site but cannot be guaranteed.
Question 9: What is the earliest that teardown & removal can begin after award?
Answer: There is no restriction on start date; however, each building is an active Air Force building that must maintain capabilities during removal/installation. Phasing is discussed at the Post Award;
but if new materials are ready to be installed removal of the old systems can theoretically begin as early as desired.
Question 10: Do you have more pictures to share of the widespan, pallet rack and mobile aisle?
Answer: Additional photos are as follows:
Question 11: The mobile aisles appear to be imbedded in the floor - will the floor need to be repaired as part of this contract?
Answer: The floor will need to be repaired where existing mobile aisle systems are located. The Cover PD has been updated to include specifications for this.
Question 12: How much lighting is there to be removed? (photos show lighting attached to the mobile aisle) Answer: Each aisle of mobile aisle has lights attached to the top of one side of the bins as shown in the drawings.
Question 13: Is there docks at each building and can recycle and trash containers be dropped at each building?
Answer: Buildings 310, 311, and 824 have docks available. Building 809 is located adjacent to 824 and the 310 outbuildings are located across the street from Buildings 310 and 311. There is room for recycling and trash containers to be placed at each building.
Question 14: Is there anything not pictured or labeled we are required to tearout & remove as part of this contract?
Answer: All equipment to be removed is included in the contract.
Question 15: What is the maximum and minimum heights for the floor supports for the straight conveyor in Appendix I?
