Holloman Question Set #2

Question 1: Will the end user have 100% of their materials out of / off of the existing storage systems that need to be removed before we begin removal?

Answer: User will have materials off of existing racking before removal.

Question 2: The number of days it will take to tear down all of the existing material in the cover and install will be more than 30 – will you amend the installation complete DARO and allow for more days to complete the cover work and installation complete? Specifically, 60 working days would be ideal for tear out and install.

Answer: No additional days shall be added to the contract. Due to mission requirements at Holloman, it is not possible to delay delivery beyond the current schedule contained in the RFP.

Questions 3-8 In Reference to Appendix H (Vertical Reciprocating Conveyor) Question 3: Available clearance above mezzanine level?

Answer: There is 108” available clearance above the mezzanine decking.

Question 4: Usable carriage size? Width & length?

Answer: The usable carriage (platform) size shall be 54” x 54” as shown on AHL706-05.

Question 5: Load height on carriage, thru gates?

Answer: Carriage shall be floor mounted to allow roll-on/roll-off loading/unloading using carts/dollies.

Question 6: Three phase power available?

Answer: Three phase power is available.

Question 7: Voltage?

Answer: Please clarify? If referring to available power, 208V is available to power the VRC.

Question 8: Load pattern: C, Z or 90 degree?

Answer: A “Z” Loading pattern shall be used.

Question 9: Appendix A (Pallet Rack) item 3.2.4. It states that a 6” flue space is required between back to back storage loads. I would interpret this to mean that they are looking for 12” row spacers assuming 6” loss due to pallet overhang.

Answer: Row spacers shall be 6” creating the 6” flue space. No additional distance is given for pallet overhang.

Answer: The exact infeed and discharge heights shall be determined during design according to industry standards to allow for interface with straight conveyor sections mounted on ground and mezzanine levels.

Question 11: What are the elevations of the tire rack in drawing AHL706-05?

Answer: Tire racks shall be as specified in Appendix J (60”W x 16”D x 84”H) consisting of three storage levels.
