ADDENDUM NUMBER 2

TO

DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS

FOR

REPLACE STEAM LINES ALONG SKEEL AVENUE

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, OHIO

PROJECT NUMBER: 040052

1.

The contract Drawings and Specifications are hereby amended in part as follows:

A. On Sht. CME-6, delete Coded Note #3 shown on the plan view in-between steam manholes S-299 & S-300. A 2” HPR line was not intended to be installed in-between manholes S-299 & S-300.

B. The Contractor shall give 88 ABW/CEMPU and the Contract Inspector a 3 week notice of when the entrance to Fac 30172 will be closed. Provide temporary steel plating over the trench capable of supporting a tanker truck (H 20 loading) for chemical or diesel fuel deliveries. Once the entrance to Facility 30172 is closed, excavation in this street area shall be completed and the steel plating in place within 1 week. Contractor may temporarily remove the steel plating while work (pipe removals and installation) is being performed in the entrance (street) area. The temporary steel plating shall be in place at all other times, including overnight and on weekends.

C. The secure fence surrounding Facility 30172 (fence location shown on drawings CME-2 & CME-5) will interfere with the installation of the new pipe expansion loops (in-between manholes S-225A & S-225B). Provide a temporary secure fence around the new expansion loop excavation area (to keep the area surrounding Facility 30172 secure), and remove the portion of existing fence where it interferes with the expansion loop installation. Reinstall the existing fence in its original location after the new piping is installed and backfilled. Remove the temporary fence after work in area is complete.

D. Relocate the existing 26’ strain pole, located between steam manholes S-223A & S-223B, to avoid the steam line replacement & excavation. The new pole location shall be established which is approx. a twelve foot arc southeast of the existing strain pole location. Remove the existing strain pole concrete foundation (8’x 2.5’ dia.). Provide a new concrete foundation at the new strain pole location, 8’x 2.5’ dia., per ODOT STD DWG TC-21.20, Design #3 for TC-81.10 strain poles. Concrete shall be ODOT class “C” per ODOT Item 499 & 511. Reinforcing shall be #6 bars vertical & #4 bar ties @ 24”. Reinstall the existing light signals and signal conductors, existing support cables, all grounding conductors, ground rods, and all related equipment and devices. The intent is to reuse the existing steel support cable and signal conductors without modification due to the strain pole relocation. Align the existing signals so that their orientation is exactly the same prior to relocation. The contractor shall provide all equipment and devices to ensure signal operation is according to control sequence.

2.

This Addendum Number 2 hereby forms and is made a part of the above-named project drawings and specifications.
