Requests for Information/Clarification Composite Document
1. Reference spec section 13 34 19, 2.4.2: The first paragraph calls for factory-applied polyvinylidene fluoride finish (which is Kynar). Subpart C. mentions Vinyl Plastisol which is a different product/process (and I don’t think is even available anymore in the industry). Please clarify.
The proper material is polyvinylidene fluoride finish (Kynar), not Vinyl Plastisol.
2. Reference sheet CC102: Is it acceptable to substitute the HD Asphalt with Concrete Paving as a contractors option?
Yes, as long as the cost is less than or equal to the cost of the high density asphalt.
3. Reference sheet CU103: Item 13 under Construction Notes advises to undercut to a depth of 6 feet or more according to the Geotechnical Report. I cannot find the Geotechnical Report in either the specs or drawings. Can you assist with this?
It was inadvertently left out of the documents provided to Contracting and was not included in the Specs, which is where we normally include it. It is attached.
4. Please advise as to the required stencil size for the 'LOADING ZONE NO PARKING' pavement markings as shown on Plate Number CC102.
Eight-inch high letters should be used.
5. Reference sheet A101: Is the chain link fence around the sprinkler riser a complete enclosure (all 4 sides) or just from wall to wall (2 sided)? The drawing seems to indicate a complete enclosure (4 sides) but it is difficult to tell.
Wall to wall (2 sides), with gate, as shown.
6. Reference sheet A101: Does the chain link fence around the sprinkler riser have an open top or a chain link ceiling?
Open top.
7. Reference sheet CU104 and A101: Are the two (2) bollards shown on CU104 at the new fire hydrant installed per detail 3/A101 (bolt down) or will they be typical fully embedded bollards?
Fully embedded bollards would be preferred, but costs may dictate otherwise.
