1. It was indicated at the site visit that an utility trench to the east of the existing offices. Footing FR16.5x30 actually extend past the temporary wall and look like they will also extend under an existing lift which the temporary wall jogs around. How should we handle this work here?

See amended footings on structural drawings.

2. The other footing FR16.5x30 on the west will actually take out a masonry wall, elevator and closet which were indicated to remain. We were also told at the site visit that the stairs would remain and be used as a fire exit for the neighboring space but these stairs will need to be removed if this footing is going to be placed here.

See amended footings on structural drawings.

3. The other stair was also indicated that it will remain for a fire exit but new footings under that location will also require that it be removed. Please advise as to the work for this area.

See amended footings on structural drawings.

4. The other two footings to the furthest north will also break the containment area and extend into the hallway. Please advise.

See amended footings on structural drawings.

5. There is no spec for the OH doors. Please provide.

See additional specification section 08 33 13 Rolling Counter Doors

6. Shaw Contract is specified for the flooring. Are you allowing alternates to the flooring? If so, is there a formal document that you would like me to submit that shows the specification comparison?

Specification 09 68 00, paragraph 2.1.2 states, “Carpet shall comply with the following: Shaw Commercial Carpet tiles 24"x24" Style Color Play #59358, color #58485 Be Jeweled/monolithic. Provide 3 percent extra of each.”

This can be changed to state, “Carpet shall comply and/or be equivalent with the following: Shaw Commercial Carpet tiles 24"x24" Style Color Play #59358, color #58485 Be Jeweled/monolithic. Provide 3 percent extra of each. Ensure compatible with CID.”

Submitted 5/7/15 1.Ref. 3/S-501 and 5 & 6/S-502; The tube steel braces are shown with 17” long welds to the gusset plates. This will require gussets plates to be significantly larger than depicted and column base plates significantly larger than dimensioned on drawings. Please confirm the 17” weld length.

See amended structural sheets.

1. Are drawings for the existing fire sprinkler system available?

See attached As-builts for Fire Protection.

2. On sheet FX101, plan note 3 it indicates that the point of connection for the fire sprinkler system is at the existing riser located at column line 12 D, which is where the system riser is located. Keyed note 1 indicates that the point of connection is located adjacent to the renovated areas between columns 12 to 13 and J4 to J5. We are assuming that keyed note 1 is correct. Please confirm.

Confirmed. Keynote 1 is correct. The intent of plan note #3 was to indicate the approximate location of the sprinkler system riser serving this area. The actual point of connection to the existing system will be at the sprinkler main adjacent to the mezzanine area as described by keynote 1.

Submitted 5/11/15

1. What is the extent of the corner guards?

Note 9 on AE101 requires Stainless steel guards on corners. Note 9 should be on the NW corner of the facility in AE101.

2. Confirm that Furnishing and Installation of furniture is not part of this contract – sheet 1F101.The contractor is tasked to install the electrical and network drops to the system furniture as per the drawings. The furniture is required to be purchased and installed thru the Air Force BPA contract.

3. The notes on sheet 1F101 states TV’s are Government furnished. What about marker boards?

The Marker boards and the TV’s will be purchased separately from the construction contract. Contractor is tasked to install the necessary backing in the construction of the complex to support the installation.

4. Note on sheet 1F101 states, “Assembly seating at conference room # 111 is part of construction package and is not FFE package”. Does this include the actual seats?

The “7” stadium chairs shown in IF101 are scheduled to be purchased and installed as part of this contract.

5. Detail 9 on sheet AE103 has the pipe penetration unsupported from below. Detail 19 on Sheet S-502 has the pipe support penetrating the roof deck and resting on the existing roof truss.

The contractor will be installing the A/C supports bracket thru the roof to the roof trusses spaced 39’6” apart inside the facility. The roof mounted split system A/C units will be placed on the two beams between the building trusses. Detail 9/AE103’s intent was to show the Pipe Boot’s relationship to the existing built-up roof, not the structural connection. Refer to detail 19/S-502 for the pipe-to-structure relationship & connection.

6. Sheet G-002 “Code Review Criteria” shows “See G-100” for mixed occupancy ratio. There is no G-100 drawing.

Refer to Sheet G-102 for life safety code analysis information. Code Review Criteria will be deleted from G-002.

7. Sheet AE101 Construction Keyed Note # 7: Cannot locate it on the drawing.

Note 7 is about removing the south door on the west side of the office complex and filling in the opening. The note 2 at the door location will need to be changed to note 7. See delta #1 on sheet AE101.

8. Sheet AE101 Construction Keyed Note # 9: Brushed stainless steel corner guard. Cannot locate on this drawing.

Keynote (9) “Not Used.”

9. Sheet AE101 Construction Keyed Note # 10: Cannot locate on drawing. # 19 references Government furnished wall mounted TV’s.

Keynote (10) “Not Used.”

10. Sheet AE101 Construction Keyed Note # 18 states, “Relocate eye wash station per PP101. Where is this located on PP101?

The eyewash station is located on PD101 in the maintenance shop (4/5th down in drawing, labeled EW) The relocated emergency eye wash is labeled as EEW-1 on sheet PP101.

11. Sheet AE101 shows a FEC outside room 102 in hall 112. Should this have a Construction Keyed Note # 8?

No, keynote #8 is not necessary since it is clear that this is a new FEC. No need to change the drawings.

12. Sheet AE401 detail 1 Keyed Note # 6: Wall mounted doorstop should probably go to door 133A.

Yes, the door was relocated and the keynote was missed. The keynote is now in the correct location per delta #1 on AE401.

13. We do not see any insurance requirements in the solicitation or specifications. Can you provide these, please?

14. Drawing FA 101 Plan Note 10 – “Coordinate final system testing with other contractors to provide full system operation at time of testing”. Will the entire building need to be tested? If so, will any deficiencies found in areas other than the contract work area be repaired by “others”?

No, the entire building fire alarm system is not required to be tested. Only the new devices being added shall be tested in accordance with NFPA 72 and the specifications.

15. Don’t see Keyed Note 6 on PD101.

Note (6) should be located next to the text '(E) 3/4" DCW'.

16. Don’t see Keyed Note 3 on sheet PP101.

Key note (3) is not used.

17. Don’t see Keyed Note 7 on sheet MH101.

18. Sheets S102; 1F101; 1G101; PP101; MP101; EL101; EP100; ET100 have door 133A in the wrong location.

Door 133A (Fire escape lower door)was moved north due to impact with existing ductwork, prior to solicitation. The location shown on the AE drawings is the correct location. The door was relocated in order to avoid an existing duct chase, and appears not to have been updated on consultants’ drawings. It is not necessary for the consultants to update the drawings at this point. Follow architectural for door 133A location.

19. There is no reference on FA101 regarding the relationship between doors 111B, 222C, 132A, 232A, and possibly 111A, with the fire alarm system.

The five doors in question allow free egress from the inside trim based on the cutsheets provided at the end of the door hardware specification. Therefore, the doors do not need to be interfaced with the fire alarm system.

20. This is Anna Wolfe with Veteran Surface Solutions, LLC. We are a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business that specializes in industrial flooring and finishes. I am emailing you in regards to Solicitation FA8201-15-R-RENO, "Renovation and Repair Building 238." The specifications call for a 3-coat Fuel Resistive Resinous Flooring (09 67 23.14) but I cannot find this spec on the drawings and finish plans. Is the resinous flooring being installed? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

After the construction is completed Contractor will have to repair the epoxy coated floor to fix the damage that occurred during the installation and a few areas where there was no epoxy coating. Otherwise we will be installing only tile and carpets in the office complex.

Delete Section 09 67 23.14 Resistive Resinous Flooring. Provide the following sealant where indicated:

Moisture Tolerant Quick Set Epoxy Clear Sealer: a two component, fast dry, waterborne polyamide hybrid formulated to provide superior chemical, abrasion and impact resistance when used on cured concrete floors. The highly cross-linked film shall provide years of service in industrial and commercial applications particularly suited for use on concrete floors subjected to severe service conditions. The waterborne formulation shall produce lower odor than solvent based epoxies, so this product may be applied in occupied areas, and is more user friendly than solvent based polyamide epoxies. Provide a clear semi-gloss finish. VOC: .78-.82 lbs/gal.

Option: provide the following sealant in Communication Rooms:

Static conductive concrete sealer.
