Text version

The reason for the IFB proposal due date extension is several typos in the drawings were discovered. They are as follows:

1. Drawing AE501 indicates that wall type 1 & 2 are calling for 16 ga structural studs. It should indicate that the gauge of the studs for these wall types 1 and 2 need not be 16 gauge. The studs may be 18 gauge. The characteristics of Fixed Facility SCIF Construction were inadvertently utilized. Notes from the client design meeting at the site reflect that these walls need only have two layers of 5/8” gypsum board with staggered joints, studs with insulation, then another layer of 5/8” gypsum board. This is typical for Wall Types 1 and 2.

2. Wall type 1 is a dividing walls on the 1st floor the full length of the project with expanded wire mesh. Wall Type 1 need not have the expanded metal at any location, including CONFERENCE ROOM 111. The characteristics of Fixed Facility SCIF Construction were inadvertently utilized.

3. On sheet S-502 on many details the ledger at the edge of the floor is a 3 x 3 ledger. It should read as using L3x3x1/4 on the upper level (no concrete) and use an L5x3x1/4 (LLV) on the floor level (with concrete).

Due to the time constraints, updated drawings with the above information will not be sent out but will be incorporated into the final contract before award.
