At the site visit it was mentioned that the existing Stripping did not need removed before repainting. Please confirm if this is true.

Answer: Correct, there is no paint removal to be performed.

3.2a In section 3.2a of the specs it notes “For spot removal of rubber outside of AREA’s A & B, there is approximately 1,000 lineal feet to be removed.

Please bid this item in linear Feet, so if there is additional linear footage to have removed this will be the unit price used.” Does that mean 1,000 lineal feet x 60’ wide? Or is that supposed to mean 1,000 sq ft?

Answer: Disregard the additional 1000 L.F. All areas to have rubber removal are covered within the areas given at each end of the LZ.

3.2a Pending the response for the question above, the bid sheet only lists 1 bid item and does not account for any additional pricing of the potential extra 1,000 feet. How should we price that item?

Answer: N/A due to the omission.

When does the government anticipate having this work performed?

Answer: Funds are not currently available for the award of this project. Notice to Proceed will be issued as soon as Funds are available.

Does the contractor need to provide any barricades for either the rubber removal, or stripping of any areas?

Answer: No barricades are required, CE will take care of barricades if needed when Stripping on the apron taxiway area. (paint drying time is so short, never have used them before)
