705th Combat Training Squadron Kirtland AFB, NM - Schriever AFB, CO - Nellis AFB, NV Mission Develop and integrate technologies to deliver a Live-Synthetic-Blended combat environment for Air Force, Joint and Coalition warfighter training.
Vision Lead integrator for Air Force, Joint and Coalition warfighter readiness training in a combat representative environment.
Mission Areas Executes COMACC EXPLAN 88 – VIRTUAL FLAG:
4 main annually: 3 US-only OPLAN familiarization, 1 Coalition integrating US/Australia/Canada/Great Britain 2 Spirals annually: US-only High-side enclave, focused 5th gen event Executes AFSPC EXPLAN 01 – SPACE FLAG:
2 annually: Space Operations in a Contested environment Represents AFSPC for space exercise planning and execution Supports USAF Weapons School syllabus events: ABM, EWO, Space, Intel, HH-60 Supports US Army Fire Center of Excellence with 2x Joint Kill Chain Events (JKCE) Certifies Air Defense Artillery Fire Control Officers (ADAFCO) Supports “pass through” testing/operations and node use via 9+ DMO connections DoD/AF modeling and simulation engineering support
VIRTUAL FLAG (VF)
VF is a COMACC-directed, theater-level exercise designed to increase tactical-to-operational warfighter integration and readiness. VF provides Air Force, Joint and Coalition warfighters training opportunities in concurrent mission sets which include: offensive/defensive counter air, integrated air and missile defense, interdiction, command and control, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance, combat search and rescue/personnel recovery, airlift, non-kinetic operations, SEAD, SCAR, and CAS. The goal of VF is to incorporate air, land, space, cyber and maritime operations preparing the warfighter to meet COCOM requirements. VF replicates combat scenarios which integrate live, virtual and constructive capabilities through multiple networks including DMON, JTEN, NCTE, JIOR, DREN, ARCnet, and T-1 connections. The 705th Combat Training Squadron is responsible for executing VF from the Distributed Mission Operations Center at Kirtland AFB, NM and the Distributed Mission Operations Center-Space at Schriever AFB, CO. VF is conducted four times per year, including one Coalition exercise
