MAFR Fence Demolition Questions and Responses 2 Dated 10 February 2015
1. Will you consider extending the due date, since Amendment Two has yet to post?
Answer: No.
2. Line item 0001 states "Price per mile up to 120 miles". Is there a minimum number of miles that will be awarded or that you expect to be awarded?
Answer: The government intends to award 120 miles for CLIN 0001. If the option CLIN is exercised, the government intends to award 14 miles for CLIN 1001. The statement “Price per mile up to 120 miles” has been removed from CLIN 0001’s Description. The statement “Price per mile up to 14 miles” has been removed from CLIN 1001’s Description.
3. What kind of notice and time frame would the range support contractor require to clear vegetation, and is it also based on funding?
Answer: Cooridination with the range support contractor will be completed in the post award briefing. It will not be based on funding.
4. What method of vegetation removal will the range support contractor use?
Answer: Surface removal including mowing and using heavy equipment to scrape away tangled vegetation if necessary.
5. No site visit?
Answer: No there is not a site visit.
6. Is there anything like an SF1442 for identifying information, or did I fail to recognize the rest of the required bid documents that must be submitted with the bid?
Answer: Because this is a service requirement, there is no SF 1442 and the solicitation posted will be used in place of a SF 1449.
7. When are the bids due?
Answer: Bids are due by 10:00 am MST 13 February 2015. Bids must be submitted electronically to samuel.riehn.1@us.af.mil, dawn.armant@us.af.mil, and derek.slack@us.af.mil
8. Option one up to 120 miles based on funds, could be only 1 mile? That is a fairly large gap but that’s a possibility?
Answer: See Question 2.
9. Are foreign companies (based outside of the US) able to bid?
Answer: Yes. However, contractor must be registered in SAM and abide by all laws and regulations.
10. When is the deadline to submit more questions?
Answer: The deadline to submit questions was February 10th 2015. No more questions will be accepted.
11. Do you pay throughout demolition or upon completion?
Answer: Monthly payments for work completed will be considered.
12. What is to become of the "T-posts", as identified in the PWS?
Answer: T-posts must be removed. They may be salvaged by contractor.
13. Do we need bonds?
Answer: No. We do not require any bonds for this contract.
