STATEMENT OF WORK

Repair/Remove Vehicle Lifts, Building 102

FXBM 08-1109

1. GENERAL: Contractor shall provide all labor, materials; equipment and transportation to repair four vehicle lifts and remove five vehicle lifts at B102, Ellsworth AFB, SD,.

2. CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

a. Repair four Weaver model EC-105 twin post lifts. The contractor shall follow the Repair Instructions in Section IV of the attached Technical Order 35D5-3-2-1. Work includes, but is not limited to, disassembling all plungers, front and rear tubes, ratchet assembly, control valve, air valve and frame assembly. All parts shall be cleaned and inspected. All seals shall be replaced. All worn parts shall be repaired or replaced with new or salvaged parts from the five lifts that are being removed. Fill all oil reservoirs to the proper levels with oil to match existing. Clean-up and pump out all pits to include the removal of any existing oil residue and oil spills caused by the contractor. Pressure check air and hydraulic lines and repair any air or hydraulic leaks. Check and repair all cover plates. Reassemble and perform final testing and checkout in the presence of the project inspector and shop personnel.

b. Remove five Weaver model EC 105 twin post lifts. Removal shall include all lift parts including cover plates, rails, control valves and piping, front cylinder and plunger, rear plunger and oil storage tank. All oil and water in the pits and the oil in the storage tank, plungers and piping shall be pumped out and removed off base by the contractor in a manner that meets all federal, state and local environmental codes and laws. All parts shall be cleaned for proper disposal off base by the contractor. Compressed air lines shall be capped at the nearest location to the air compressor. The rear cylinder shall be cleaned and abandoned in place.

c. Prepare pits and fill with concrete. Sawcut concrete floor behind steel C-channels on sides of 12’ long deep pits. Sawcut shall be 5” deep, approximately 1” behind channels. Cut channels at ends and remove channels and 1” wide concrete strip to sawcut. At all other locations where pit walls meet the floor, grind off steel hinges and protrusions above floor level. On vertical face of steel pit frame angles grind off all steel protrusions within 2” of floor elevation. Fill rear cylinder and all pits to floor elevation with 4000 psi concrete. Consolidate concrete, provide steel trowel finish to match existing floor and cure.
