Reponse to Questions

Clarifications:

-- Contractor to dispose of transformers. Test of the oil-filled transformer indicate PCB levels of less than 2 parts per million. Test results will be provided to the successful bidder after contract award for use during disposal.

--Existing fence fabric, posts, and brick columns to be removed re-built as necessary for removal of existing transformer and installation of new transformer, transformer pad, and ground ring.

--Install washed gravel mulch in all areas with gravel mulch. This is to include any additional gravel mulch in the entire area where the new sectionalizer is installed.

Questions:

1.-Solicitation says we are to hold price for 282 days. On page 30 under B. PROPOSAL PREPERATION INSTRUCTIONS it says 300 days. Which is correct?

2. All manholes are full of water.

Contractor shall pump the manholes as necessary to accomplish the work of the project.

3.- Detail 2 E1.0 note 6 says that conduits are 4" and 5". They are in fact 2-4".

Noted. Existing to location of new sectionalizer is 4-inch. Install 4-inch conduits for new primary from the new sectionalizer to the new transformer.

4. Page E1.0 shows a 4" conduit for cable and a 4" for spare. We can only find three pipes in the existing sectionalizer. There does not appear to be 2 conduits between the sectionalizers. Is one missing?

There are two existing 4-inch conduits in the ductbank from the area near Pole G-7 to the existing sectionalizer. There is one existing 4-inch conduit in the ductbank between the existing sectionalizer and the vicinity of the new sectionalizer.

5. Many of the conduits are full of water.

Noted. The Contractor shall use necessary means to overcome or remove to water as necessary to install pull strings, pull ropes, and conductors.
