SPECIFICATIONS

Overhead Roll-up Door Replacement

Remove and replace the existing overhead roll-up door. Completely remove the existing overhead door assembly to include wall lock hasp, chain, metal side guides. Thoroughly prepare existing surfaces for new overhead door install once the existing door is removed.

New overhead rolling type commercially available door shall be spring counterbalanced, overhead rolling type, galvanized steel, powder coated, non-insulated, shall be designed for use on exterior openings.

Doors shall be operated by hand chain operation. Door shall be complete with guides, hardware, fastenings, operating mechanisms, and accessories. Doors shall be surface-mounted type with guides at jambs set back a sufficient distance to provide a clear opening when door is in open position. The door to include installation of the doors, hardware, and anchors shall meet Miami-Dade wind loads. Sound engineering principles may be used to interpolate or extrapolate test results to door sizes not specifically tested.

If the overhead door is removed, the opening must be completely closed off by end of day by temporary barrier installed at the opening to prevent accidental entry to electrical area or exposure by the elements.

The dimensions of the current existing overhead door is approximately

107.5 W inches X 125 H inches. Contractor must verify and satisfy before purchase the dimensions of the space intended for the new roll-up door assembly.

Door selection and color shall be submitted to the government contracting officer prior to purchase. The Government prefers the existing manufacturer Wayne Dalton be used for the new door replacement. The color shall match the existing color scheme on the window frames located in the courtyard.

Once overhead door is installed the surrounding area of the wall may require painting and patching. Properly prepare surface before applying paint to match the existing color of similar items in the courtyard.
