Q. What is the flow rate and total volume anticipated to be pumped for the project?
A. The flow rate will be based on the COD level after it passes through the filter system and is determined by the Town of New Windsor. The SOW states the max days with a FRAC tank. For bidding purposes, base the price on those number of days with a FRAC tank. Any additional days will be considered a change order. As per SOW the max anticipated rate is 50 gpm.
Q. The RFP indicates granular activated carbon as the treatment technology to be employed. Would a resin be acceptable for PFOS/PFOA removal?
A. Activated carbon was only mentioned because it worked last time, bidders can use any means as long as it removes all PFOS/PFOA to non‐detect levels.
Q. I see that statement of work calls for two days onsite per week and 36 days, can you clarify if it means two days per week over that 36 day period or a total of 36 days onsite (18 weeks) total duration?
A. 36 days on site total spread out over the 18 weeks in addition to set up and breakdown. If the release rate turns out to be high, as determined by the Town, then those 36 days may be condensed and in turn allow the contract to wrap up early. Contract price will not be reduced if that happens and will benefit the winning bidder.
Q. What flow rate do you want the system to be capable of treating at?
A. the max flow rate must be capable of up to 50 gpm.
