About this file
This is a technical specification document from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) for HVAC equipment installation at the Sanchez Unit in El Paso County, Texas. The project involves supplying a 15-ton commercial rooftop packaged gas/electric air conditioning unit (Carrier model 48TCD18D5A60F0A0 with AHU-F12, 460/3phase/60 configuration) with enthalpy economizer, smoke detectors, coil hail guards, and medium gas heat. While TDCJ personnel will perform the actual installation, the vendor is responsible for equipment supply and delivery only. The bid submission deadline is December 11, 2024, at 3:00 PM, with electronic submissions accepted at BIDS@TDCJ.TEXAS.GOV. The project has a 12-month duration with completion targeted for October 17, 2024.
The procurement will be funded through TDCJ's operating budget, though no specific contract value is disclosed. The opportunity has no set-aside requirements or vendor eligibility restrictions, indicating open competition. Vendors must report performance through the Vendor Performance Tracking System for purchases over $25,000 and comply with security requirements for correctional facility deliveries. Equipment delivery location is specified as TDCJ Sanchez Unit Maintenance at 3901 State Jail Road, El Paso, TX 79938. The technical specifications require compliance with industry standards from NFPA, SMACNA, and UL for sheet metal, duct insulation, natural gas piping, metal ducts, and duct accessories.
