About this file

This document is an Addendum to a Request for Proposals (RFP) for Environmental Consulting services issued by the Grand Rapids Public Schools (GRPS) district. The RFP covers environmental consulting services for a multi-phase facilities improvement project, with the first addendum providing clarifications on the scope of work. The addendum addresses questions raised during the pre-proposal meeting, including the use of existing reports, the option for multiple environmental consultants, and the pricing structure for NESHAP inspections and reporting. The RFP has a due date of November 12, 2024 at 11 AM.

The RFP allows for the selection of multiple environmental consulting firms, and the district is open to awarding contracts to more than one firm. The pricing structure has been updated to include a line item for NESHAP inspections per building, to be based on the project list provided with the RFP. The addendum also indicates that the district has already selected Architectural and Engineering (AE) firms for the Series 1 projects, and construction is underway at three locations.

Attachment F. Building Floorplans

RFP Clarification Items:

1. Will there be multiple AEs/CMs? Yes. The district has contracted multiple AEs/CMs for Series 1 projects and anticipates it to be similar for the other 2 series projects.

2. Can we use the existing AHERA reports? GRPS indicated intention was to show how much detail we have at this point. Will leave it up to the Consultant to determine how much more testing will be necessary.

3. Have any jobs listed been started yet? Designs underway? Series 1 listed projects all have AE’s selected. (3) locations NESHAPs have been completed as construction is underway at Sibley, Coit & Sigsbee. All other locations designs have just begun or will be soon.

4. Will the district consider selecting multiple Environmental consultants? Yes, the district is open to awarding to multiple firms.

5. Is the line item on the Proposal Form for NESHAP report meant to include the inspection or report only? Intent was to have an all-inclusive price for inspection and reporting. Updated proposal form has been issued with this addendum to include line item for NESHAP Inspection (per bldg.) This is to be based on the Project List included with the RFP.

6. Due date remains Tuesday, November 12th @11a.
