About this file
This document is Amendment No. 5 to AHCA Contract No. MED216, an agreement between the State of Florida's Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) and Florida Medical Schools Quality Network, Inc. (FMSQN). The contract involves collaborative research and reporting on two primary healthcare-focused projects: a study on donor human milk use for premature infants and a comprehensive sickle cell disease (SCD) study for Florida Medicaid recipients.
The amendment extends the contract term through December 31, 2024, with specific deliverables focused on researching donor human milk safety, healthcare utilization patterns, and sickle cell disease demographics and treatment. The contract includes multiple deliverables with associated financial amounts, ranging from $5,208 to $200,000, and requires detailed reports on topics such as donor milk bank operations, SCD patient healthcare utilization, clinical treatment programs, performance measures, and potential external funding opportunities. Financial consequences are outlined for failure to meet deliverable requirements, typically involving a 10% reduction of the invoiced amount. The primary objectives include improving healthcare outcomes, understanding patient populations, and developing recommendations for Florida Medicaid recipients.
