John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park Interpretive Center Contract Number CN667, Task Assignment Number 01

Subtasks 2 and 3A

Subtask 2 – Pre-Design and Due Diligence Phase

The Pre-Design and Due Diligence phase includes field measurement and non-destructive verification of existing site and building conditions related to the project scope, including field notes and photos to produce design backgrounds. This phase will produce a topographic survey, trip generation calculations and a geotechnical analysis. The intent is not to provide “as-built” documentation for the project, but documentation sufficient to the design.

In this phase, a preliminary understanding of the exhibit components, aquarium requirements, coral nursery needs and visitor experience goals will be developed. A thorough analysis of the site with regard to vegetation will be completed, and parameters to assist with a life cycle cost analysis (intended to minimize operating expense and maximize useful life of the buildings) will be identified. In addition, a more detailed ROM cost estimate based on Option 1 will be provided.

Please note that throughout this proposal, Basic Architectural and Engineering Service related to vertical structures will be indicated in blue. Additional Service related to site work and specialty disciplines will be indicated in red.

Subtask 2 includes the following steps:

Subtask 2A – Survey Additional Service

Description Limited topographic survey confined to area of project (approximately 9 acres) and including all-out of all above-ground structures including tree survey and area for potential parking expansion and elevations. Required by AHJ within 12 months of project commencement.
