About this file

This document is a Question and Answer Addendum #1 for Invitation for Bid (IFB) B-51138 issued by the State of Illinois, Department of Central Management Services (DCMS), for the procurement of Illinois local ground beef. The addendum clarifies specifications and requirements outlined in the primary contract document titled "Local Food for Schools Local Beef Purchase Contract 2026," which contains the complete product specifications and contract terms available through the Illinois BidBuy procurement system.

The contract specifies ground beef with a fat content requirement of 85/15 percentage fat or leaner. All beef must be produced and processed in facilities that comply with applicable local, state, and federal food safety and sanitation regulations. Suppliers' facilities must be authorized to display either the Illinois state inspection stamp or the USDA federal inspection stamp, indicating compliance with official inspection requirements. The addendum directs bidders to review Section 1.2 of the primary contract document for detailed beef specifications and the Food Safety, Sanitation and Licensing section for comprehensive safety and inspection requirements. Technical assistance regarding document access is available through the Illinois BidBuy Help Desk at il.bidbuy@illinois.gov or 866-455-2897 during business hours.
