About this file

This document is an inspection report for an aboveground storage tank (AST) at the A.A.S.F. #1 Lexington fuel storage facility in Lexington, Oklahoma. The report details an inspection of Tank 2 conducted in accordance with STI SP001 standards to evaluate integrity and establish data for future inspections. Significant findings include that the existing catwalk does not allow safe access to all tank appurtenances, thread engagement issues throughout the product piping system, and approximately 500 feet of joint seal deterioration and 135 feet of cracks in the facility containment requiring repair. The engineer recommends repairs and improvements be made to address these issues and fully comply with codes, including extending the catwalk, improving piping connections, removing vegetation from containment joints, and repairing cracks in the containment floor. Ultrasonic thickness readings were taken and shell life calculations determined the tank has over 30 years of remaining life under current conditions. Engineering drawings of the tank and facility layout are provided in the appendices.
