About this file

This document is a State of California specification for Emergency Crew Transport (ECT) Vehicle Lighting, specifically Attachment G for Bid Specification 4210-5617OPT, issued by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. The document was initially released on 7/18/2022 by Benjamin Middleton and represents a detailed specification for vehicle modifications and optional equipment.

The specification outlines several key options for the Emergency Crew Transport vehicle, including privacy screens made of perforated 16-gauge steel or aluminum with specific hole dimensions and airflow requirements. The document also includes deletions of previously specified features such as map lighting, handheld portable radio charge circuits, and USB charging ports in the vehicle's buildup. These modifications appear to be part of a specific procurement process for specialized emergency response vehicles, with precise technical requirements designed to meet the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection's operational needs.

To optimize airflow, all screens shall have enough forward-facing louvers installed in order to meet or exceed the airflow volume of the OEM window screens, approximately 1000 FPS when measured with a velometer.

The rear door window area will also have a security screen installed. This screen will be of punch plate design with ⅜ inch holes. The security screen will be installed inside the original window frame to the inside of the glass.

The internal portion of the windows shall remain completely operational, including opening, closing, swing arc travel and locking. In order to maintain emergency exit regulations all screens must be fastened to the outside window frame and under no circumstances shall the screens interfere or restrict the swing arc travel of the OEM windows.
