About this file

This is an Exhibit C attachment detailing pump and motor repair scenarios for an on-call pump and motor repair services contract with West Basin Municipal Water District in California. The document outlines six specific repair scenarios—three pump repairs (P1, P2, P3) and three motor maintenance scenarios (M1, M2, M3)—that serve as the technical basis for contractor proposals. The pump scenarios include a Goulds horizontal split-case pump rated at 2,100 GPM, a Johnston 7-stage centrifugal pump rated at 2,050 GPM and 730' total dynamic head, and a Floway vertical turbine pump rated at 14,000 GPM. The motor scenarios encompass a 75 HP US Motors vertical duty motor, a 700 HP TECO-Westinghouse weather-protected motor, and a 500 HP US Motors TEFC motor. All scenarios require comprehensive repair, rebuild, or replacement work including disassembly, inspection, fabrication of new components, sandblasting, epoxy coating, reassembly, transportation via flatbed truck, crane arrangements, reinstallation, and performance testing with vibration analysis reporting.

The scope of work for each scenario establishes detailed requirements for materials, workmanship, testing standards, and documentation. All materials must meet or exceed manufacturer specifications, and field installations must comply with manufacturer recommendations. Motor maintenance work includes specialized processes such as vacuum pressure impregnation, stator core testing, rotor balancing to 4W/N specification, and performance testing with vibration analysis. Pump repair work requires fabrication of new shafts, impellers, wear rings, and mechanical seals, with specific material requirements such as 316 stainless steel for certain pumps and 416 stainless steel for others. Contractors are responsible for all ancillary services including crane service, flatbed transportation to and from West Basin facilities, and delivery of comprehensive repair reports documenting final clearances and test results. The contractor must provide consumable materials and furnish all necessary components such as bearings, gaskets, O-rings, and couplings, with the requirement that old bearings be returned to the customer upon completion.
