About this file

This is a specification document for a raised access flooring tile replacement project issued by the 151st Intelligence Support Squadron (ISS) at the Roland R. Wright Utah Air National Guard Base in Salt Lake City, Utah. The project requires the procurement and installation of replacement tiles for an existing raised access computer floor system in Building 302, Room 110. The scope of work includes extraction and removal of aged floor tiles, installation of new concrete-filled and perforated airflow tiles into the existing grid system, cutting of 3-inch holes in 80 concrete-filled tiles for data and power cables with industry-standard grommets and caps, sealing of cut tiles, and complete removal and disposal of old tiles. The project requires 700 concrete-filled floor tiles (24" x 24" with 1,250 lbs design load capacity and gray coloring) and 100 perforated airflow tiles (24" x 24" with at least 25% open area for airflow). All work must be completed during Utah Air National Guard operating hours (0600-1630, Monday through Thursday) at the specified Salt Lake City address. SPECIFICATIONS

Bldg 302 Rm 110 Bullpen Area Tile Replacement

BACKGROUND: The 151st Intelligence Support Squadron (ISS), located at the Roland R.

Wright Utah Air National Guard Base in Salt Lake City, UT, has a requirement to acquire and replace the existing raised access computer floor tiles located in building 302, room 110 bullpen area.

This project is strictly for the procurement and installation of the new replacement tiles into the existing, currently installed raised access flooring system understructure. It does not involve installing a new pedestal or grid network understructure.

The scope of work requires the contractor to:

1. Extract and remove the existing aged floor tiles.

2. Install the new concrete-filled and perforated airflow tiles into the existing grid system, ensuring a seamless, level, and flush fit. Cut 3” holes in 80 concrete filled floor tiles for data and power cables and supply industry standard gourmets for all holes along with caps. Seal all cut tiles to industry standards. There are approximately 118 “field cut” edge tiles along the walls. All cutting will be done outside the space in a designated staging area. Workers must clear security restrictions for working in a classified area and will be always escorted. The existing raised access floor system has not been inspected for levelness or structural integrity. Replacement pedestals or stringers are not anticipated to be required at this time.

3. Completely remove, haul away, and properly dispose of all old, replaced tiles off-site in accordance with local regulations. The old floor tiles are known as plastic laminate panels. They have metal frames and are filled with concrete. These panels are considered standard construction debris when removed.
