About this file
This document outlines technical specifications for medium tactical vehicles to be procured from Navistar Defense through a five-year foreign military sales contract with the Government of Iraq. The specifications cover a range of vehicle types including 30-ton wreckers, 4x4 and 6x6 general transport trucks, and 6x6 general transport trucks equipped with material handling equipment. Key requirements include Navistar 7000-series chassis, turbocharged diesel engines capable of operating on high-sulfur fuel, manual transmissions, and corrosion protection coating. Cargo bodies must support a 6,000-kilogram payload and material handling cranes must have a 10,000-kilogram lifting capacity. Radio frequency identification tags and first aid kits are also required. The contract will be awarded on a sole-source basis to the incumbent, Navistar Defense, due to lack of alternative suppliers for the specialized non-standard vehicle types.
