AREAS OF INTEREST (AOI): SECURITY FORCES SQUADRON INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS

1. General Information

1.1 AoI Background

The 82d Security Forces Squadron is a team of warriors that guarantee a permissive training environment through flawless law enforcement and force protection at Sheppard AFB while deploying trained and ready members worldwide in defense of Air and Space operations. 82 SFS Defenders implement integrated defense capabilities for two wings, 33 alarmed facilities valued at 21 billion dollars of Air Force assets. Operations also include providing command and control for all Force Protection operations encompassing 5,700 acres in the protection of 18 thousand permanent party personnel and 56 thousand Airman in Training annually. 82 SFS is always seeking ways to stay on the cutting-edge and would love to partner with pioneering small businesses that can offer a solution to some of our challenges.

The 82d SFS is interested in a solution that further automates commercial vehicle inspection consistent with USAF security standards. The unit currently dedicates between 3-4 personnel to search commercial vehicles prior to the entry of the base. An automated system that would reduce or remove the need for these individuals to conduct vehicle searches would free the manpower for other functions. The unit is also interested in a user friendly/more automated security and surveillance camera system. [Ideally, a solution that utilizes Artificial Intelligence to alert to suspicious activities and or illegal behaviors such as personnel moving through unauthorized areas, climbing perimeter fences, etc.] This unit is targeting solutions priced less than $250K. However, the Government may evaluate proposed solutions greater than $250K.
