About this file

This is Addendum #2 to Invitation for Bids (IFB) 128764 issued by the City of Fairfax, Virginia, Office of Procurement Services, dated October 21, 2026, for Grounds Maintenance, Mowing, Landscaping Services, and Snow Removal. The addendum clarifies bidding procedures and modifies the original scope of work quantities. Bidders may submit pricing for individual groups, including the snow removal group, and must demonstrate a minimum of five years in business. Subcontractors are permitted for field services subject to City approval; however, subcontractor qualifications and references cannot be considered or added to bid responses. Pre-bid visits are not mandatory, and bid or performance bonds are not required. The addendum corrects the price schedule and revised estimated annual quantities: Section 8.B.X (fertilization and broadleaf controls) reduced to 3 visits annually, Section 8.C (pruning) reduced to 3 visits annually, and Section 8.D (spring cleanup and mulching) changed to 1 visit annually.

Previous winning bids for related City mowing contracts were Right-of-Way Mowing at $122,208, Fairfax City Public Schools at $80,869.00, and Fairfax City Cemetery at $45,339.00. Current contractors are eligible to re-bid as all City mowing contracts are being re-competed. The scope of work has not changed from the original IFB, though work may be performed by varying numbers of crews within different timeframes. A signed copy of Addendum #2 must be included in bid responses; failure to do so may result in bid rejection. All other terms and conditions from the original IFB remain unchanged.
