About this file

This is Addendum Number 1 to the contract documents for the Rehabilitate Maintenance Building Loading Dock project issued by the Louisville Regional Airport Authority for the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport. The addendum, dated August 7, 2026, modifies the original contract documents through revisions to Special Provisions Section 5 and Plan Sheet A500. Key modifications include changes to dock leveler requirements, with specifications now requiring removal and storage of one existing dock leveler for reinstallation while the second leveler is to be legally disposed of off-airport property, and installation of a new Blue Giant Model MDC7230M-MXS Edge Dock Leveler or approved equal. The pre-bid conference was held on August 6, 2026 at 10:00 a.m., with attendance from representatives of HNTB, Calhoun Construction, Construction Services Plus, Miranda Construction, Koetter Construction, AML Construction, Scott Construction LLC, MAC Construction, Transamerican Railroad Consulting, and LRAA staff. A mandatory site visit was scheduled for August 12, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. at the LRAA Maintenance Building, 4320 Park Boulevard, Louisville, Kentucky. The bid opening is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2026, conducted via video and telephone conference. Contract time is established at 120 calendar days from Notice to Proceed.

The liquidated damages rate has been revised from $5,000 to $1,500 per calendar day. Bid submission is electronic through www.flylouisvillebids.com, with all required bid documents including bid bond, bid form, questionnaire, and current financial statements required at submission. The project is located outside the Airport Operations Area, eliminating badging requirements, though all openings must be secured at the end of each work day. Insurance requirements include Public Liability and Property Damage at $1,000,000, Contractor's Protective Liability and Property Damage at $1,000,000, and Automobile Public Liability and Property Damage at $1,000,000. The current Disadvantaged Business Enterprise goal for the project is zero percent. Written questions must be submitted by 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 to Engineering@flylouisville.com, with the LRAA reserving the right to hold all bids for up to 90 days.
