About this file

Addendum No. 1 for the East Shade Shelter Shoreline Stabilization Project was issued by the Cherry Creek Basin Water Quality Authority (CCBWQA) on October 1, 2024. The addendum includes documents from a pre-bid meeting held on September 18, 2024, including a sign-in sheet, meeting agenda, and a list of questions and responses. The bid due date remains October 18, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. MST/MDT, with key dates including a question acceptance deadline of October 4, 2024, and a bid intent deadline of October 16, 2024. The project involves bank stabilization to reduce phosphorus loading into the Cherry Creek Reservoir, with planned activities including riprap, boulder armoring, grading, revegetation, and pedestrian access control.

The project is expected to have a 120-day construction schedule, with a Notice to Proceed (NTP) anticipated in January 2025 and construction completion targeted for Memorial Day weekend. Contractors are required to submit a Unit Price Bid Schedule and Bid E Bond Form. Work hours in the park are from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., and the East Shade Shelter parking lot can be closed only prior to May 1, 2025. The project will require a state stormwater discharge permit, and modifications to the Geologic Environmental Site Control (GESC) Plan will need to be coordinated with the Arapahoe GESC inspector. Boulders must meet specific MHFD specifications, and weekend and holiday work will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

3. Project Overview

This bank stabilization project was identified as a water quality concern to the

CCBWQA; it is a continuous source of phosphorus into the reservoir and was made worse in the 2023 spring/summer storm events. RESPEC started the design of this project in 2021. CCBWQA and CPW collaborated on this project to restore the eroded bank and reduce the phosphorus loading into the reservoir that we are currently seeing. This project includes bank stabilization with riprap, boulder armoring and grading/revegetation as well as pedestrian access control with fencing and defined access points and stabilized social trails.

4. Estimated Schedule o Contract bid review and selection: October 18th – November 1st o CCBWQA approval for contractor selection (November Board Meeting):

November 22nd, 2024 o NTP Expected in January 2025 with 120-day construction schedule o Construction completion by Memorial Day weekend

Please see revised massive rail fence detail, confirming the park standard size.

2. What is the water surface elevation of Chery Creek Reservoir

All Cherry Creek Reservoir historic and daily water surface elevations can be found at following website as noted in Section 00 31 32 of the contract documents.

3. Does this project require state stormwater and dewatering permits?

Per the contract documents, section 00 73 00, contractor shall obtain state stormwater discharge permit. A groundwater discharge permit is not anticipated but will need to be confirmed by the contractor based on their means and methods.

Contractor will be required to coordinate with the Arapahoe GESC inspector during construction. Modifications to the approved GESC will need to be coordinated with the inspector and documented/redlined on the plans. GESC plans are intended to be current

“living” documents that evolved to best protect the site from construction stormwater discharges.

5. Is Holiday/Weekend work allowed?

This will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, however, based on the construction schedule, we don’t anticipate work on holidays between January and May that will be prohibited. All work does need to be completed by Memorial Day weekend. Weekend work is also allowed during this expected work period.

6. What are work hours in the park?

5am to 10pm
