About this file

This document is an AIA Document A221™ – 2018 Work Order issued by the Detroit Regional Convention Facility Authority (DRCFA) for a construction project. The work order is intended to be used with a master agreement for multiple work orders, specifically for miscellaneous projects at the facility. While specific project details are not fully completed in this template document, it appears to be prepared for hazardous material abatement services related to the Huntington Place Convention Center in Detroit. The document outlines the framework for a contract that will define the scope of work, contract sum, payment terms, substantial completion dates, and other critical contractual elements.

The work order includes provisions for compensation, which can be structured as a stipulated sum, cost of work plus contractor's fee, or a guaranteed maximum price. The document indicates that payment terms will follow the master agreement, with monthly payments proportional to services performed. Interest will accrue at 5% annually for unpaid invoices after 30 days. The contract also includes sections on insurance requirements, with references to professional liability and pollution liability coverage. The DRCFA will be the owner, and the specific contractor is not yet identified in this template document. The work order is part of a broader set of contract documents, including modified AIA standard forms, insurance requirements, and special conditions specific to the Detroit Regional Convention Facility Authority's projects.
