Compressor Wash Cart
Amendment 2
1.0 REQUIREMENT
The United States Coast Guard (USCG) Aeronautical Ground Support Equipment (AGSE) subdivision has a requirement for a self-contained compressor wash cart (herein referred to as wash cart) for cleaning the USCG’s HC-130H and HC-130J aircraft turbo shaft turbine engine compressor sections.
The USCG is currently using a 1985, USCG designed, custom wash cart that is capable of supplying air to all four (4) engines simultaneously and supplies cleaning soap/water to each engine individually for either the HC-130H or HC-130J aircraft. The wash cart unit is also capable of supplying compressed air for servicing the aircraft with air tools and/or water pressure for washing the engine nacelles.
1.1 The wash cart shall be capable of closing all four engine bleed band pucks simultaneously, throughout the engine wash cycles. The USCG has conducted two (2) tests with two (2) different air flow rates and neither was sufficient to close all four (4) engine bleed band pucks simultaneously. The first test started with a six (6) cubic foot per minute (CFM) with a ten (10) gallon compressor tank which only closed two (2) engine pucks and the second test included a nine (9) CFM compressor with a ten
(10) gallon compressor tank which only closed three (3) engine pucks.
All quotes shall meet or exceed the requirements listed below. The USCG is solely responsible for making determinations as to whether or not an item meets or exceeds its requirements.
