Bid Items 55201‐0200 and 55401‐1000 are for the foundation that’s been designed and is shown on the plans.

12/11/19

4 X

Item 30120‐2000 Roadway Aggregate is being measure contract quantity‐ there are previous parts of the trail which have less than design thickness of roadway aggregate‐ is this item being used to bring it all up to depth and if so can the item be measured per ton? Or provide accurate cross‐sections so we can verify the quantity?

The unit of measure for Base Schedule Bid Item 30201‐2000 will not be changed, and additional information will not be provided.

Bid accordingly.

12/11/19

5 X

Option Z‐ Item #30201‐2000 Roadway Aggregate, Method 2 is being measured as contract quantity but the typical section says it varies‐ can you provide a better section for the aggregate or make it per ton?

The unit of measure for Option Z Bid Item 30201‐2000 will not be changed, and additional information will not be provided.

Bid accordingly.

Bid accordingly. 12/11/19

7 X

Plan Sheet I.2 calls for weathering steel but there are references to paint on this sheet and in the specifications too. Can you confirm the structural steel material type?

This will be addressed in a forthcoming amendment.

Design the bridge and bolt connections according to Subsection 555.03A.

12/11/19

9 X

Subsection 555.03A(a) says: “Coat all steel components with shop‐applied inorganic zinc primer or hot dip galvanize.

Completely coat all steel, including top surface of girder flanges.” Is shop applied inorganic zinc primer to be considered equal to hot dip galvanized? If supplied with shop applied primer only will field painting be required? Please clarify final finish requirements/options.

This will be addressed in a forthcoming amendment.

12/11/19

10 X Q&A 12‐04‐19 states that a new link will be provided that publishes the Final Geotech Report. When will this be provided?

Response not posted. Helped bidder navigate beta.sam over telephone.

See Subsection 260.06(b). 12/18/19

12 X

Will the government allow the contractor to have the Rock Bolt and Dowel material (bar) pre cut to length during the manufacturing process?

See Subsection 260.06(a). 12/18/19

13 X Will the contractor have to order the bar for bolting and dowels in maximum commercially available bar lengths?

Order bar lengths to meet the contract requirements.

12/18/19

14 X Based on the limited work area on both sides of the tunnel will the government allow the contractor to use couplers for Rock Bolts?

See Subsection 260.06(b). 12/18/19

15 X

The specifications (page F‐30) reference a vertical picket safety system, yet the plans (sheet I.7)detail a horizontal rail safety system.

Can you please clarify which safety system the bridge should be provided with?

This will be addressed under a forthcoming amendment.

12/18/19

16 X

The specifications (page F‐31) state that only an AISC Simple Bridge Certified Fabricator (SBR) certification is required for this project.

Typically, a structure of this magnitude would require the fabricator to be at least certified as a Major Bridge Fabricator (IBR or ABR) per AISC.

Can you please confirm the fabricator requirements?

This will be addressed under a forthcoming amendment.

12/18/19

17 X

The design loads on sheet I.2 calls for an AASHTO H‐12 load. This load designation does not exist within AASHTO can you please clarify the required live load that this bridge needs to be designed too?

This will be addressed under a forthcoming amendment.

12/18/19

18 X

The design loads on sheet I.2 calls for an AASHTO H‐12 load. This load designation does not exist within AASHTO can you please clarify the required live load that this bridge needs to be designed too?

Revised Response to Question #17. Design is per AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications current edition and AASHTO LRFD Guide Specifications for the Design of Pedestrian Bridges current edition. See AASHTO LRFD Guide Specifications for the Design of Pedestrian Bridges Figure 3.2.1 for the base designation of H‐12 truck. Live Load is per AASHTO LRFD Guide Specifications for the Design of Pedestrian Bridges Section 3, using loads specified on sheet I.2 and SCR Section 555.03A Design sub‐section (b).

12/19/19

19 X

No. Bid according to the contract requirements.

12/19/19

20 X

Will the interior dowels for the Anchored Wire Mesh System (A1000) need to be tested? If they do, what will be the total design load for the 5' Dowels?

See Subsection 260.11. 12/19/19

21 X What is the total LNFT of Weep Holes to be drilled?
