About this file
This is a 100% construction document set for Fire Station 2 in McAlpin, Florida, prepared by Donnelly Architecture, Incorporated for the Suwannee County Board of County Commissioners. The project involves the construction of a new 7,294 square foot steel frame fire station building with associated site development on a 11,572 CR 252 McAlpin, Florida location. The construction documents include architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing plans with detailed specifications for all building systems, finishes, and site work. The project scope encompasses grading and drainage, asphalt pavement, concrete flatwork, concrete curbing and sidewalks, underground utilities, stormwater retention, final site dressing, and demolition of existing infrastructure. The building is classified as mixed occupancy containing residential (R-2) space for 16 occupants and storage (S-2) space, with a total occupant load of approximately 30 persons. The facility includes fireman's quarters, officer's quarters, mechanical room, domestic laundry, recreation/workout room, shower rooms, kitchen, dining area, gear storage, apparatus bay, and administrative office space. The construction documents are dated July 20, 2026 and represent 100% design completion.
The project is designed to comply with Florida Building Code, Eighth Edition (2023), Florida Fire Prevention Code, Eighth Edition (2021), and the 2020 National Electric Code. The facility incorporates fire-rated wall assemblies using 1-hour UL-419 rated construction with gypsum board on metal stud framing, NFPA 13R sprinkler system, NFPA 72 fire alarm system, and impact-resistant openings per Florida Product Approval standards. The building features a standing seam metal roof system, stone veneer exterior cladding on concrete masonry unit substrate, concrete slab-on-grade flooring with decorative epoxy finish in mechanical areas, and interior finishes including lay-in acoustical ceilings, gypsum drywall with paint, ceramic tile in wet areas, and rubber base molding. The structural design is Type II (0,0,0) fire-resistant construction suitable for three stories with allowable heights up to 60 feet. All materials specified are new, and the contractor is responsible for obtaining necessary permits, conducting utility locates, performing material testing, and providing operation and maintenance manuals. Donnelly Architecture, with offices in Gainesville and Crystal River, Florida, serves as the architect, with Devlen Engineering, Inc. as structural engineer and Joseph, Lawrence & Co., LLC as MEP engineer.
