RESPONSE TO QUESTIONS

5/16/19

Q13: Can we receive a DID (design intent drawing) for the new detention suite area? Is there a sketch of what is the desired layout to know what exactly is intended for this area?

A13: DID was included as a supporting document to the SOW after completion of SBU request.

Q14: Is there a current company performing the BAS (building automatization system) work that would need to be used to integrate with the current control system? Who installed the current BAS?

Typically, the BAS requires use of a similar, if not the same, subcontractor as the original installer in order to properly and most simply integrate the newly added equipment to the existing system.

A14: GSA BAS utilizes BACnet compatible devices that are non-proprietary.

Q15: Option 1 and Option 2 appear to fall under section 6 which would make those areas design build, not just construction phase items. Is this interpretation correct, or do those items not require design with stamped engineer drawings, stamped as-builts, etc.?

A15: Options 1 and 2 will require Design.

Q16: Can the engineering team anticipate to receive current updated CAD files for all areas of the project requiring design work and final as-built plans to be created for? If not, the engineers will need to plan for additional design work recreating the plans themselves.

A15: As-builts from the most recent major renovation will be provided; however, contractor shall anticipate that the drawings will not be entirely accurate. It is likely that multiple smaller projects have occurred and the as-builts have not been fully updated.

Q16: I am checking to see if it would be possible to use NVRs and cameras from Avigilon?

A16: Vicon is the only approved CBP vendor.
