1) There are no specs for signage but there is some for glass film under the partitions section. So from what I can glean from the drawings is that the private offices (and a handful of conference rooms) get the room info in vinyl only (sign type 2) in combination with the Fasara privacy film, and the balance of the rooms (where indicated) get a sign type 1. Is that correct?
All glass office fronts (offices, conference rooms, etc) receive the distraction band film per elevatioin 5/A-603 and the film specifications.
The signage plans indicate which rooms receive which signage type
80 2) My concern is that this setup is not code compliant.
The tenant is the authority having jurisdiction and has approved this layout.
3) It is not clear to me which if any other rooms are glass front and get the distraction graphics as well. I don’t see it on the finish details and the only one called out specifically in the elevations is the break room on Floor 23 (see drawing 2, A-603). Problem is that room is supposed to get a sign type 1 which can’t be mounted on glass. Drawing 6,A-602 calls out a pantry wall on Flr 27 but there is no pantry, just a break room, so I’m operating on the assumption that that is what is intended.
This RFI is generating reduntant information that is contained in the documents. All glass office fronts (offices, conference rooms, etc) receive the distraction band film per elevatioin 5/A-603 and the film specifications. Drawing 6/A-602 is an elevation in room 27-163, as indicated on sheet A-127. Per the room signage schedule, room 27-163 is to receive sign type 02.

All power shall be fed from wall or overhead. The GSA project manager will be the final Authority and will provide the direction in the field. In other tenant spaces the preferred option is to bring power to the furniture clusters by utilizing column or walls mounted junction boxes. If this is not feasible, another option is to use overhead poles or to partially reuse the exisiting in slab cell system for power connection and overhead poles for low voltage system. In this case the overhead conduit for power shall be routed to the closest wall and extended to the cell system. Core drilling of the slab and running conduit through another tenant space will not be permitted.
2. Please confirm that all telephone and data cabling, equipment and terminations will be provided by GSA under separate contract and we are only responsible for cable tray, boxes, stub ups and empty conduit as shown on E-series drawings.

Re: Mechanical Demolition-Sheets M-123.00, M-124.00, M-
127.00 and M-129.00 do not provide any indication on the extent of mechanical demolition in the areas to be work in.
What is to be demolished with regard to mechanical systems in the work areas?
As indicated on the drawings, where identified, all ductwork is to be demolished and removed back to the point of connection. It is recommended that the contractor assume 3 pounds of sheetmetal per SF. It is not anticipated that there is any large equipment located above the ceiling.
Re: Operable Partitons-The specification 102226 - 2.4 c calls for Marker boards and tack boards but there is no indication on which panels are to receive marker boards and which one are to receive tack boards. Can this be clarified?

Re: Louvers-Plan sheet M224.0 has two new louvers shown on column line J labelled ‘By Others’. Specification 233113 paragraph 3.1.NN has that ‘louvers in Building Façade… will be provided as part of the work of another contractor’ and the specifications provide no requirements for exterior louvers under this contract. Plan sheet M-603 provides an exterior louver detail. Are exterior louvers to be provided under this contract, and if so, what are the requirements for those louvers?
Louvers are existing and should be assumed to provide adequate open area for the equipment shown.
Re: Mechanical Work for Options 1 and 2Plan sheet M223 shows ductwork for supply that crosses the boundary between areas A and B at several locations, and sheet M324 shows piping supplying units in area B being supplied across area A. For example if only option 1 is taken the supply ductwork for rooms 2304, 2305, and 2306 would not be connected. If only option 1 is taken what changes are required for the piping and ductwork at the boundary between area A and area B?
These room numbers are in the annex side of the building and have no relationship to Option B.
Therefore, if Option B happens and not A there would be no impact to HVAC for these rooms.
Re: Wall at Area A and B Boundary-Is the wall between areas A and B to be assumed to be constructed under both options 1 and 2? The wall should be constructed under Area B.
Re: Fire Watch-Is a 24 hour fire watch required in the construction areas when the fire sprinkler service in that area when the sprinkler is inactive in the construction area?
When the sprinkler system is inactive on the floor, in the construction zone, and/or occupied adjacent areas, a continuous 24 hour fire watch is required, unless a temporary heat detection system, or a temporary sprinkler protection (i.e., upright heads in space with no suspended ceiling), is provided
Re: Alternates- On the floor plans Finish Note #1 says that WCV01 is an alternate to Gl23 but there is no place on the bid form for this. Can this be clarified? Bid sheet to be revised to include the deduct alternates
Re: Window Treatment:Note 8 on A-123 says provide new window treatment as scheduled. Please provide a specification and schedule.
All windows to receive horizontal metal blinds. Levolor Riviera 1" metal blinds, to be installed on inside of window with a painted metal fascia.
Re: Low Voltage Raceways:Section 230900 paragraph 3.3.a.3 calls for all control wiring and all primary network wiring to be run in conduit. Section 260519 paragraph 3.7.a.1 states that miscellaneous low voltage systems may be run without conduit. Section 2660001 paragraph 3.2.b states that fire alarm wiring shall be run in conduit. Can the DDC control wiring be installed without conduit and utilizing plenum rated cable?
Low voltage telecommunication system will be run without conduit.
Re: Low Voltage RacewaysCan the fire alarm cabling be installed using plenum rated cable without conduit? No must be in conduit
Re: Telecommunications Scope-The plans state that the contractor is to install conduits with pull strings and cable tray for this contract. There is a complete telecommunications specification provided, where it is stated that the contractor is to coordinate with the GSA vendor.
What are the requirements for contractor coordination with the GSA vendor?
Telecommunication wiring will be furnished by GSA vendor.
Electrical contractor shall provide pathways (conduit, sleeves, cable trays, wiring poles - raceways, pull strings, etc.) for all telecommuncation wiring. Field coordination is required between all trades to achieve the design intent.
Re: Security System Scope:Specification 01 31 00 Paragraph 1.3.c.3 lists that security systems and packages might be provided by others. Is the security system called out in the plans to be provided under this contract, or only to be coordinated under this contract?
Security wiring will be furnished by GSA vendor. Electrical contractor shall provide pathways (conduit, sleeves, cable trays, wiring poles - raceways, pull strings, etc.) for all telecommuncation wiring. Field coordination is required between all trades to achieve the design intent.

Re: Staffing on Multiple Floors-If work is being performed on multiple floors at the same time will a SSHO(Site Safety and Health Officer) be required on each floor? The GC to determine appropriate staffing to implement the work.
Re: Wall Type A6C:Wall type A6C is provided on the partition schedule on sheet A702 which shows installation of foil and new gypsum wallboard on existing exterior walls at the windows in secure areas. Plan sheets A123.00 and A124.00 do not call out this wall type to be installed and have it noted that the insulation behind the induction units is not to be disturbed. In addition, sheets M123.00 and M124.00 call for those existing induction units to remain in place which would prohibit the installation of wall type A6C at those locations.
Induction units are to remain and not be touched in these locations. The induction unit will act as the foil in the wall, so foil does not need to be added to the wall where the induction unit is located, only in the portion of the wall above.
Re: Wall type A6C: Where is wall type A6C to be installed?
Wall type A6C indicates existing walls at the perimeter of room 14/SWE spaces. This drawing indicates where the new RF film is to be located with keynote 7
