1) Concrete pad specifications for even bid purposes?

2) It appears that the existing pad is a grout pad and it is also cracked. No specifics have yet been provided on the expected new pad (i.e. concrete or grout). Can you please provide specifics on the replacement of concrete pad, and the expectation of the government?

3) Is the jockey pump concrete pad to be torn out and replaced? Dimensions are roughly 1' x 1' x 4"

4) How should the pump be anchored and leveled (i.e. existing floor, new structural pad, other)?

Questions 1-4 are answered below:

Cement Anchor bolts and leveling rods for pump placement The existing pad will be demo’ed and repoured.

The pad will not be for structural support but for housekeeping / cosmetic Remove old pad and replace with pad at 3500 psi strength The existing pad will be demo’ed and repoured.

The cast in place pad will be approx. 72” x 31’ x 4” The pad will not be for structural support but for housekeeping / Cosmetic

Remove the pump, remove the pad and anchors, install the new concrete anchors and leveling rods, install pump firmly anchored, cast pad in place with the 3500 psi concrete.

5) Specify which isolation valves exactly are to be replaced on the suction and discharge piping.

Mike and Jeff indicated the oldest valves were the intended scope, but there are multiple valves, can you please clarify?

Will require the 2 6” rising stem gate valves to be replaced on the suction side of the fire pump. We will do the discharge vales at a later time.

6) Mike and Jeff requested the 2" piping to the jockey pump be replaced, it's aging and rusting.

Please add to scope of work to replace 2" piping for jockey pump.

7) In the project pre-walk, conversation with the group mentioned the 2” line on the jockey pump.

While it is appropriate/desirable for a complete project, does the government want to replace this line and specifically add it to the scope?

Yes – replace the 2” jockey pipe – all the way to the 6” pipe

Replace approx.. 20’ of Jockey Pump suction and discharge piping with like schedule

8) The solicitation calls out to replace all wiring. However, the starting and stopping points on new wiring were not specified and is unclear. Can you please provide the exact starting point of the “new wiring”?

From the ATS to the controller to the pumps for wire replacements. – from the main circuit controller to the ATS / Controller does not have to be replaced

9) Normal working hours would be preferred due to availability and logistics of any issues that may come up during change out. Will there be any requirements of weekend/night work?

No – all work can be done normal working hours.

10) There are two (2) valves and a backflow that is brand new, are these items to be reused or replaced?

The items can be reused – left in place And work around.

11) Is there an allowable/acceptable shutdown timeframe that can be provided by the government?

During normal working hours – Planned outage – short as possible

12) Is the project funding available to award project?

yes
