About this file
This document is a set of Request for Information (RFI) responses for a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) project to replace an HVAC unit in the Hemodialysis area. The project (Solicitation 36C25725B0013) involves replacing a specific HVAC unit (AC-4-2B) with associated demolition and abatement work. Key project details include a 180-day project duration following notice to proceed, an estimated 45-day submittal and badging process after award, and specific requirements such as epoxy flooring, a standalone thermostat, and an Infection Control Risk Assessment level of 4.
Critical technical specifications include replacing the reheat coil, utilizing a Certified OEM Technician to verify equipment condition, and no requirement for temporary cooling units. The VA will handle removal of the suspended ceiling, and contractors are advised that the service elevator has a 5,000-pound weight limit. Abatement will be required for the mechanical room wall, ceiling, and flooring, and the contractor must provide a warranty for new components. No additional site visits will be scheduled, and a staging area will be allowed within VA premises.
