AMENDMENT 00006
08/23/2018
| PROJECT: | 676-18-201 Build Whole Health | |
| LOCATION: | Tomah VA Medical Center in Tomah, WI |
Amendment 00006 hereby incorporates the following change(s)/clarifications into the solicitation package:
A.) VENDOR QUESTION(S), 8/22/2018
1. Plan page M-501 indicates the new Self-Contained Vertical Unit Ventilators are to be connected to the existing LPS & LPR piping from removed convectors. Is the existing pipe size adequate in each location to supply the new units or will connections need to be made back at the mains somewhere? I'm being told these three Vertical Unit Ventilators have a lead time of 10-16 weeks. I cannot find a manufacturer that will provide them with a steam coil. I would have to retrofit them with a steam coil.
VA REPLY: Tie into the steam lines from the removed steam unit. Extending the steam to the main should not be necessary.
The basis of design for the ventilator unit is manufactured by Modine/Airedale and they provide a steam coil in the plenum (a local supplier representative indicated “that the steam coils need to be mounted in the plenum that sits on top of the units. [The supplier] has both the coils and plenums as options available from the factory. So, this would be a slight amount of field assembly, but not too much.” The factory stated that these units will fit under a 9’1” ceiling (they are 9’0” with the steam coil and the free blow plenum).”
B.) VENDOR QUESTION(S), 8/22/2018
1. In Spec section 10 21 13 toilet compartments, it mentions 3 different styles of materials metal, stainless steel, and phenolic? Which material should I be quoting on this project?
VA REPLY: Stainless Steel.
C.) VENDOR QUESTION(S), 8/22/2018
1. In The grout that is spec for whole health is an industrial grade grout and the company does not recommend it for any tile over the size of 6"x6". This grout is used for commercial kitchens. Laticrete did not recommend using this grout in this situation. They make a regular epoxy for these situations.
VA REPLY: Contractor shall utilize regular epoxy grout.
Contractors shall ensure all amendments are acknowledged on Page 2 of the SF-1442.
The date for the public bid opening has NOT been extended; bids are due no later than Monday, August 27, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. CST. Bid shall be addressed to Kristi Kluck AND Scott Cole.
